Love Gallagher's effort but he's not suited for a team who what's to keep the ball he's more of a roadrunner.

First touch is poor and his passing isn't great. I'd be looking to cash in personally and reinvest elsewhere in the squad.

Nothing wrong with the boy. He needs time. Jeez, we’ve watched Jorginho lose games single handedly for years and he cost £60m, we’ve watched Pulisic run about like a dog with a balloon, clueless about what and where he is going and he cost over £60m. We’ve watched Xiyech stroll about shoulders hunched eyes bulging like a rabbit in the headlights doing absolutely nothing and he cost £40m. We’ve watched Sterling stumble and fumble about the pitch and now not even bothering to turn up, and he cost £50m why not cash in on them.

Stephen you obviously favour academy players, fair enough, as for Gallagher I’m not sure but time will tell. You may be right about getting rid of players but we won’t get much cash. Jorginho will go on a free. As for Sterling, who would buy him. He is on a 300K a week contract, living in London where he wanted to be and is only interested in playing for England, hence his convenient bout of sickness before the Newcastle game: we’re stuck with him.

Gallagher at very least brings energy and all out effort.

JBS you are 100% correct about CG.

Some players aren’t playing well and that happens to all players during a season.

The biggest shock for me is our lack of movement off the ball and how some players look as if they don’t want to receive the ball. This is very disappointing but I think GP will eventually get the plate performing to a level we will all be happy with.

I repeat I think one maybe two players will be leaving the squad in the next window with two maybe three joining.

We should also have James, Kante, Kepa, Fofana and Chilly back when the Premiership restarts. They all all probably go straight into any match day team.

Jimbo, it’s not that I prefer YA players, I treat them
with the same leniency as many fans give a £70m player coming from overseas. Football fans are happy to let a cheque book signing “settle, gel in, find their feet, ” but appear to want to kick out youth when they are not a JT within two games. Connor wasn’t great the other night. Why? Because Chelsea were getting done in the midfield, and he was over running without the ball. His game had no shape. He was partnering a half fit Kova and Jorginho. The boy not only looked exhausted, he actually looked stressed. I could have wept for him. Here is a prediction for you. Newcastle would have beaten any PL team visiting St. James on Saturday night. They are on the crest of a wave. Nothing has changed since Lamps walked in the door 3 years ago, still need Declan Rice which is a bloody disgrace, still need a WC CB, still need to move out Azpi, still need to drop Jorginho as a holding midfielder for every PL game. Lamps signed, Chillwell, Silva, Mendy, Ziyech, Werner, Havertz. Ziyech is a fail, sell Timo to buy Sterling, why? Got a turn out of Mendy for £20m, they might even get £20m back for him from someone. Chillwell good, Silva very good, Havertz, overpriced but a glimmer that he might still contribute. I gave panned Pulisic, whom I loved when he arrived, I am hoping he has a great WC and comes back with a bit of belief.

The phrase 'roadrunner' is an absolute nonsense.

Stephen the earlier you drop rice obsession the clearer your assessment of become. Rice may never come regardless of how much obsession on this site. We need players with better quality than Rice who get overhyped by the British media and fans alike. It will certainly amount to foolish spending to sign Rice because he's overpriced and There will be better options for the amount to sign him. this guy is not good in providing assists nor scoring goals.

Imo Rice is not the best for the position and there are others in the league better suited to us. At this point we must look for the very best fit for the position because it has multiplier effects on the whole team. I would prefer an experienced and proven midfielders who will help mentor he younger players.
