If mount doesn't sign a new deal, then we will have to sell in summer. , can't risk losing for nothing or value dropping each window, question, young English, loads experience, won lots, not in good form at moment and position wise I don't know best position, how much do we think his worth, ?

Matt, if a new contract isn’t sorted out by the next window, that would be the time to sell him. Difficult to say how much for him with a year left on his contract: given his age some clubs might be tempted to wait until his contract runs down. I would say 50-55M.

I think transfer fees will be generally higher in the next window. We could have two new owners looking to make a statement.

If the club look to sell Mount i would be looking for
£80 mil as a minimum.

I'd say 40m for Mount cause he will have 12 months left on his contract.

I had a theory and worry that our new owners would make “statement signings” when they took over and history could well repeat itself at other clubs this summer.

I am now pleased to see a structure in place at our club that should help the club make better researched signings.

We can't sell Mount. It would be bigger mistake than letting KDB leave. Mount is a special player for Chelsea. Gallagher as well. Chelsea has to play different formation which can suit players that we have better. I am not unhappy with players and performance, I am unhappy with results. Hopefully we will start winning.

Tom, apart from players like Mbappe no club, even Chelsea, is going to pay 80M for a player with one year left on his contract.

When Roman started his first major recruitment campaign, there were plenty of commentators and managers that said things that amounted to Chelsea bursting the transfer bubble. It wasn’t long after that period when other clubs were paying comparable transfer fees for players.

I don’t know enough about the financial situation of other leagues or other European clubs but from a distance it looks with one or two exceptions that money is tight.

Given that scenario I should be thinking that the next transfer window will be a lower transfer fee market but it’s very likely that two big clubs will have new owners and another rich club will be preparing for a tilt at The Champions League. I think the UK transfer market will be even more bonkers in the next window than usual.

Mount is a premium product and I think if he doesn’t sign (I think he will) there will be several clubs showing an interest and that will create a premium.

Of course, not for the first time, I could be wrong but I will stick with my opinion.

Can I also add, if my theory is correct it means will be paying very high transfer fees for any player we want.

100% on the spot Tom. Only English clubs and Real&PSG are able to afford players like we do. It's going to be hard for us to sell players with price we would like to get.

antibot, I think wages will be the sticking point in a lot of cases but the squad is far to big and other clubs know that.

Also and almost regardless of league position we will see more and more players desperate to play in the Premiership.

I think we have quite a few players that if the club decides to sell we get a very good transfer fee for in what will be in my opinion a predominant Premiership market.

Tom, not sure what a premium product is. Is it like “Tesco’s Finest “. But seriously leaving aside FFP, which is for the board and their advisors to deal with, before we start buying players from a business perspective we should start balancing the books by letting players go in the summer. I can think of 10 I would be content to let go. Our squad size is ridiculous; the club are having to build more locker room space at Cobham. I am no Potter fan but to be fair to him it is unrealistic to think he can properly oversee and supervise a squad of our size.

Jimbo, if you remember some time ago I named 13 or 14 players I thought would be leaving the club this summer. One of those, Silva, has thankfully signed a contract extension but I still hold the view that we will see significant changes in the summer and some will be fans favourites.

It now looks like we have a group of owners with a plan they will stick to. I’m happy with that.

This summer transfer window will be fun to watch and bonkers in my opinion.

Ok Tom but we can't sell the jewels like Mount. I understand that it is time to part ways with likes of Azpilicueta, RLC, Ziyech (maybe Pulisic), Jorgihno left, (maybe even Kovacic and Kante), Auba, Koulibaly (who totally flopped), (perhaps Sterling although he's still quality player) . That's 10. How did you get 14?

antibot, I am in no way suggesting we should sell Mount. I think he is top class.

I can’t remember who the 13/ 14 players who I thought might be going but one was Silva and he has signed a contract extension. I think I put the like of Ampadu, CHO and Mendy.

I’m sure you can look up my list some of whom I would want to go.
