We can't sell Mount.

Change the manager and he won't need to be sold.

{Ed001's Note - idiotic post as it is nothing to do with the manager. Toxic rubbish.}

I can only assume it’s some strange rallying call for fans of Mount to turn against the manager.

All very perverse and worrying!

I don’t understand what the manager has to do with the Mount situation: obviously a coach might want to keep a player but the situation is simple. The club have offered a new contract, the player wants more, if a deal can’t be agreed he has 1 year left on his contract. It would be foolish for the club to let him go on a free transfer: I certainly would be critical if this happened. Mount is entitled to demand what he believes he is worth and the club are equally at liberty to disagree. This is one thing that Potter isn’t at fault for.

Nothing to do with GP, just plain greed by the player.

Spot on bill
Greed, he is what I would class rich already and he still wants more perfectly entitled to his self opinion. to much greed in the world
Mason mount is a top 6 squad player
Or a second tier first team player
Tomb you compared him to lampard come on mate use your loaf
Mason mount is obviously a very good player but not a great player good luck to him in his quest for even more money.

gola, My recent comparison to Lampard should not be quoted out of context.

It was me saying that if he leaves I hope it isn’t something we regret. I posted the something like following:-

Could Mount be a West Ham - Lampard moment and I also said, or it could be a Spurs - Ali moment.

Mount in perfectly entitled to ask for what he wants and the club are perfectly entitled not to bend to his demands.

I hope he doesn’t leave, but I don’t get precious about any player. I’m sure there will be plenty of clubs willing to match his demands and some may well be “top six” clubs.

Anyway, the point is what in gods name has Mount potentially leaving got to do with GP?

He played nearly every game for all the previous managers and was the main guy in the team.

Where he basically plays 50% of the games in the starting 11 nowadays.

He has been injured. He wasn’t playing at his best for TT this season with one or two as exceptions and he hasn’t generally played well for GP.

I don’t care who the player is, if they ain’t playing well then don’t pick them.

What I will say, he was exceptional the previous two seasons and I’m sure he will get over his drop in form. I think the lad is a talent.

For all those posters doubting Mount as a player and how is just a “squad player”. Can I suggest they wander over to the Liverpool site and view the list of clubs who are showing varying degrees of interest in him. The summary is from Ed.

That's the problem Tom.

As a manager you have to improve players at your disposal.

GP hasn't improved any player this season, bring a star manager and in my opinion he will convince Moutn to Stay.

Lrdit, Mount potentially leaving will have very little to do with the manager and a lot to do with Mount and the club not being able to agree on contractual terms.

I know you and others are desperate for GP to get the sack with one saying they want the team to get get beat another saying he NEVER was and NEVER will be good enough for Chelsea and another just repeatedly making “I told you so comments”.

I’m all for opinions but how could anyone want there team beat just to prove some sort of strange point?

Bringing up Mount and his recent lack of form as another way of having a pop a GP isn’t good or correct in my opinion.

Tom, I agree with you that the Mount contract issues have nothing to do with Potter nor does his inconsistent performances. However, I do not accept that Mount’s form is down to the contract issues, if that were the case, it would be unprofessional. Perhaps, he has just plateaued as a player. TBH I am bored with the Mount contract issues and I don’t care either way.

Jimbo, i have zero way of knowing if Mounts form this season has anything to do with his contract negotiations.

As fans we are just guessing but we do know is both parties haven’t reached an agreement for a new contract and that’s all my above post says.

Mount new contract has nothing to do with GP it is all connected to TB.
