Please, please football fans do not allow racism back into our grounds again.

I know it's never really gone away completely but it has improved beyond all recognition in my lifetime.

It seems to be a bigger problem in countries like Italy and Spain but our ex academy player Palmer got abuse while playing for Coventry against Wednesday, so we mustn't as fans become complacent.

Not reporting an incident last season is one of my biggest football regrets. I have promised myself I will report anything in the future.

I am deeply disappointed about these recent events, I naively thought those days were over ( in the U. K. ) . Apart from criminal sanctions the club involved should ban them for life.

As an aside, I was at the Bridge today for the women’s game and the atmosphere in the Harding Stand was fantastic. There was a bit of back and forth, some well placed jibes at Utd, but all in good spirit.
