Hello eds hope you are well.
I was curious to know whether chelsea were interested or even have a chance of signing any of stones Barkley or lukaku.
Also I wondered if our lack of European football is likely to affect which players would be interested in a move to the club and which players we would be able to pursue. I have seen this have adverse effects on Man U and Liverpool in recent years and I was wondering whether we wouldn't be able to purchase the quality of player we want because of this.
Thanks in advance and great work on the website.

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea all took a look at Everton's John Stones in the summer of 2014 but none made an offer. Chelsea made an attempt to sign him in the summer of 2015 but then moved on to another target. I very much suspect Manchester United (who showed interest some time back) will look again to Stones. Interest of Barcelona and Chelsea has gone for now as they both look elsewhere. Everton know that Real Madrid have attended a couple of games and are working around a major potential issue that may make them bite. Everton will resist any move, but as ever, paying over the odds could force the matter – as it could force a bid from elsewhere, such as Manchester City - but he is not their preferred choice.

Everton will not want to sell Ross Barkley just yet but there was firm interest from Manchester City which may well have moved on - the kid needs to think carefully about his future before looking to move just yet.

Lukaku has been dealt with in the past.

I don't know what "adverse effects" you are referring to elsewhere but it may well make players think twice. I think it unlikely to be a major problem.}

Hi eds hope you are well
I was wondering whether the appointment of a manager at chelsea would affect our potential transfer plans for the summer or not as emenelo seems to get a big day in dealings and I didn't know if a new manager would want to bring his own players in or not.
Also I was curious to know if there was any update on our pursuit of antoine griezmann and if we were still trying to sort a deal out or not.
Thanks in advance and great work on the sites.

11skelljcfc

{Ed002's Note - I don;t understand (1) what the phrase "big day in dealings" means, nor (2) why you have mentioned ME at all. Chelsea are still interested for a deal for Griezmann but I don't expect anything to happen.}

1.) 29 Feb 2016 19:43:34
Sorry ed my mistake it was meant to say "say" not day and I assumed as the director of football at the club ME had a say in transfers and that may be incorrect but essentially the question was is the club likely to vary or compromise it's plans for the summer window for the new manager (whoever it may be) or not.
Thanks for the swift reply too.

{Ed002's Note - As the responsible director hae does indeed have an involvement in the process all of the way from the scouting of the kiddies to the purchase of first team players. The role varies depending on a number of factors. The new manager will have an input to the process as any other manager would, so there may well be changes. Maybe he will want to bring in a couple of players from Russia or Portugal or whatever.}

Ok thanks for the info ed.

Jt is leaving at the end of the season.

John is a great legend....! However, at 35 I think he should just move on. I don't think he is capable of beating his past performance. He could only get worse as he exerts too much power in the dressing room. He might probably be called back for a coaching role in the academy in a few years time. Not many old players can be like Giggs. Remember Xavi, Raul, Rio, Fernadihno and so on have to move on at some point. I hate the way the media has made it look like Chelsea has no loyalty to their old players.

Musonda has gone to real betisin loan. Seems like an ok one to me as long as he gets game time.

hello ed
I was wondering if there was any truth in these rumours regarding Gary Cahill moving or whether it was just tabloid junk. If it is truest you think chelsea will go back into the market for another centre back as we already lost djilobodji this month or is miazga seen as a replacement.
Cheers in advance and great work on the page btw.

11skelljcfc

{Ed002's Note - Firstly I don't know what Gary Cahill wants but right now the interim manager is picking Kurt Zouma ahead of him. Whilst Chelsea are just about to sign a new centre back they have let one leave (who won't be coming back). As such it seems unlikely that Chelsea would want to sell in January but if an acceptable offer were made then the club would not stand in the way of Cahill if he wanted to leave. It is also fair to say that Chelsea are aware of another side who will look for a deal for Cahill in the coming days, whether or not they will offer sufficient money I don't know.}

Hi everyone haven't posted on here for quite a while but I express everyones happiness at the moment.
I was just wondering with the January window coming up. Which player you would sign in each area of the park to strengthen our 11 so 1 cb 1 cm/ wb and 1 of the front three. Obviously it's all hypothetical but I'm just curious to see who people would really like to see come in.

I'd personally go for dybala renato sanches and i'd like to buyout christensens loan clause (which I doubt is possible)

1.) 19 Nov 2016 21:51:52
Mate wake up sanches just signed for Bayern.

2.) 19 Nov 2016 22:56:08
I would like to assure you Eden at present time of writing I am awake and also aware that sanches has just signed for bayern you see as I stated above it was a hypothetical choice of what I'd like to happen rather than what might happen.

3.) 19 Nov 2016 23:10:25
Varane, Kroos and Bale. Hypothetically speaking.

4.) 19 Nov 2016 23:42:31
Douglas Costa, pace and direct!

5.) 20 Nov 2016 05:10:21
If you're going to be hypothetical it would have to be messi, pele, zidane, iniesta and Ronaldo :)

6.) 20 Nov 2016 10:14:38
marehz could be a cheaper option to play on the right with his left peg , Pepe (free transfer) takes Terry's squad place, but is 33 so don't hamper christenson long term future, traore from boro he looks like he's going to be immense when he's older, Lewis baker, christenson, ake, I tried to take an alternative view in stead of saying greismen, verrati, messi, bale ect.

7.) 20 Nov 2016 10:18:31
I'd love Griezmann as a new forward player, Tolisso as an extra CM, and (if Christensen doesn't join the 1st team squad next season) Van Dijk, Tah or Romagnoli as a CB.
3 buys, and they'd make our squad one of the best in the world.

8.) 20 Nov 2016 15:38:11
In reality we need backup for Alonso! And that's a must!

9.) 20 Nov 2016 20:57:33
What I'd do is get in Romagnoli or De Sciglio (possibly both) there going to be big names sooner rather than later. Then change the formation up (a small bit) and bring back Thorgan and playing them on either side of Costa more central on the pitch. (after all two hazards is better than one :D) and lastly get rid of Begovic and have Donnaruma as back up using the Barcelona technique one for league one for cups. But that's never going to happen it's nice to dream though :)

I'll be honest I don't think I've ever seen a better performance from chelsea. Especially against such good a good team. Simply brilliant.

a flawless display! long may it last.

31 Aug 2016 18:44:44
Ed can you enlighten us on any other transfer news incoming other than luiz and alonso or is our business done now.
Thanks in advance.

11skelljcfc

{Ed018's Note - nope. Looking like Luiz will be it}

1.) 31 Aug 2016 19:22:38
Really ed well thank god this transfer window is nearly over. Back to the norm.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 19:13:29
Thanks for the info ed! Sorry for asking twice I didn't think the first question had gotten through. Shame no more are coming I would've liked brozovic reminds of nainggolan and also I would've liked a striker. However if it means Solanke and chaloboah break into the first team as a result of this is understand the reluctance to buy.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 19:39:55
Maybe it is better if we don't sign another midfielder, since we have 6 CMs ATM and that would complicate things after fantastic start of a season😉.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 19:49:03
plus Luiz? .?

5.) 31 Aug 2016 20:29:36
Luiz is defender in a first place.

31 Aug 2016 17:45:54
Ed do we have a backup plan for cm that you know of as it seems brozovic decided to stay at inter, or do you know if these claims are false and the deal may still be on?

11skelljcfc

{Ed018's Note - he looks set to stay at Inter and I haven't heard anything new about any other options}

31 Aug 2016 14:27:07
Sorry to crush a few deadline day dreams but Jorge mendes said last night James is staying at real. IF any of the eds want to prove me wrong and shed any new light on the situation feel free to do so but that seems to kill any chances of James signing.

11skelljcfc

1.) 31 Aug 2016 15:04:50
We have four excellent wingers ( Hazard, Willian, Pedro and Moses) . So, winger is a last position we need. James Rodriguez is also capable to play as CAM but we have more than enough players on that spot. Brozovic is a very good player but personally I don't see him as necessity. CB would mean a lot if we can pull this. That would allow Conte to play with 3 in the back without stress.
Left back is crucial signing and whoever we sign additionally would be a bonus. 😎.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 16:47:44
Moses and Pedro aren't excellent wingers antibot. They're are average same as Willian who is just a little bit better than them two.

Oh why. Great player yes, great defender NO. Hopefully he's matured at psg but they aren't a club who has to sell which makes it seems as tho he's possibly surplus to requirements.

No I see what you mean. I feel as though we could only play them in a three with matic but that would compromise the formation that is working so well for us. I know Barcelona never had tall midfielders but the nature of their game required less physicality and fight than ours and also they played in a much less aggressive league where lack of aerial ability can be exploited to the max.

The only way they can truly learn is through their mistakes and I think both of us and the club would rather he Made them elsewhere, on loan.
