we have made a £22m bid for aston villas jack grealish.

ChelseaScot

1.) 13 Jun 2018 18:05:32
Don’t get that when we have Barkley and mount.

2.) 14 Jun 2018 10:01:19
Jack is a good mate of mine, met him through a uni mate a few years ago when it was his breakthrough season when Villa got to the FA Cup final. He got a lot of stick that year for his lifestyle but people forget he's a young boy. He's progressed a lot in his time in the championship, seems to have matured a fair bit on the pitch and can tell you he has off it. I asked him to introduce me to JT last year but never got round to it : (.

3.) 14 Jun 2018 10:33:20
Having young players at your club shouldn't blind your eyes to the fact that there are some other young players elsewhere that's is better than yours.

4.) 14 Jun 2018 11:07:24
No of course not Obinna but Mount is a fantastic talent and Grealish is no better than him or Barkley for that matter imo we’ve so many good youngsters like Haighton87 said there’s no better time than in this transition period to blood them again imo everyone has there own views of course which are all respected 👍🏻.

5.) 14 Jun 2018 12:30:34
In response to Obinna123, "apparently" we opted against buying Deli Alli because we have RLC.

One has done fantastically well with the club who bought him and now a regular in the national side. The other is only now getting recognition because of a semi successful loan move and is now in the squad for the national side and let's be real here, he also could potentially seek a move away from a club he's been at since the age of 8. Nate Chalobah did the same.

Chelsea have more important issues to be worrying about a player like Grealish.

i think youth wise, unless there is a special talent out there are more than covered.

6.) 14 Jun 2018 21:25:58
In response to Haighton87; I am sure Chelsea will incorporate Loftus Cheek into the squad next season or after next season (just like Chelsea did with A. Christensen, Courtois) cos he's doing well to get into the team.

And since Chelsea opted against buying Dele Alli for Loftus Cheek, the club has won 2 Epl titles and one FA cup with Loftus well developed from his loan away from the club WHILE Tottenham has won nothing since then.
Guy, don't try to be more righteous than the Pope; Chelsea will make the best decision for the club and it's young players to ensure that they develop into the team and we keep winning trophies. The decision to loan Loftus Cheek was the right one and I trust the next decision that they will make regarding Loftus Cheek.

7.) 15 Jun 2018 08:11:09
obinna123, first off change your tone, this is a forum for fans to discuss opinions. i am not here to argue or tell people they are wrong.

You have also missed the point I was making in regards to Alli and RLC.

Chelsea have bags of talent in their youth but choose to loan them out. RLC was in the squad but barely featured in our team. Spurs bought Alli and he was instantly given a chance and run of games and now look at the level he is at.

There is also the task of keeping the player happy, if RLC has a good world cup yet Chelsea go ahead and buy another midfielder for £££££- what message does that give not just to him but the others coming up. its all good developing them but if the club won't take the plunge and integrate them, they will leave. Solanke was happy to let his contract run down to do so.

I am not comparing our trophy haul to spurs because its not even worth discussing, my subject is about the youth and bringing SOME not all, into the squad. that is all.

but what do i know.

8.) 15 Jun 2018 22:15:30
Sorry if my tone is harsh, it's not my intention. I get your point now.

07 Jun 2018 15:18:26
are Chelsea close to signing hysaj of Napoli?

ChelseaScot

1.) 08 Jun 2018 08:18:34
His got a release clause in his contract. Pay that and your close. Not sure his worth his release clause tbh. There is interest though!

2.) 08 Jun 2018 15:53:42
I read- his agent saying something like he might be following Sarri to Chelsea (that is if Sarri ends up at Chelsea) . I think Hysaj has a release clause in his contract. The Napoli player that I really want at Chelsea is Jorginho.

06 Jun 2018 10:07:25
Ed, could we get a rough list of players being looked at or considered to sign for Chelsea? I see a few of the other 'top clubs' have got one recently and it would be something to discuss. I remember in previous years on my old login having a good list quite regularly and getting everybody discussing a little more.
Cheers.

ChelseaScot

{Ed002's Note - Not a chance, sorry.}

1.) 06 Jun 2018 11:06:21
ah no problem.
No manager news
no new stadium
no ed update.

tough times for chelsea.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 11:31:13
Reading this morning that we are in advanced talks for Seri from Nice. also reading that we are in a three way battle with spurs and west ham for Rondon!

the latter i am hoping to be complete and under rubbish.

3.) 06 Jun 2018 12:03:49
ah I did see both of those rumours. I think Seri must have some substance to it, a more trusty guy on twitter had mentioned it a while ago. it was twitter though haha.

rondon can foxtrot Oscar, useless and we have giroud for the big sub striker role!

Haighton87, what are your predicted incomings for the summer. roughly?

4.) 06 Jun 2018 12:21:49
Honestly? . I don't have a clue and I find it extremely hard to predict anything when we haven't sorted out the managerial issue first (before the world cup) .

I just can't predict anything at the moment and for the first time, in a very long time - I'm very worried. I wish the Conte relationship could be salvaged as I think he is/ was brilliant for the club.

In terms of targets, we need improvements all over but I would like that to be a mixture of upgrading our youth and then a few top class names added where possible. I personally would love to see Asensio at Chelsea.

Being out of the Champions League will be our struggle in attracting players (i think) .

5.) 06 Jun 2018 13:02:33
yeah the manager thing certainly makes it harder to predict or even decide who you want to come in, there is such a difference between sari/ blanc/ conte in regards to playing style. I must admit I enjoyed the first half of the last title winning season under conte however the second half, for me, was already showing signs of slower play and perhaps overworked players. after another year of what has turned into again, for me, the most defensive sytle of football I have seen from a top English club I actually find it quite unbearable to watch now. I think with Alonso and azpil as full backs and kante in front of def we should be able to have a 4-1-3-2 which allows all of the 3 and 2 to fully express themselves in attack without much defensive responsibilities BUT this will never happen under Conte. even when we play against Fleetwood in the cup.

Asensio is one of those players who is either going to kick on at real, move and do a jese/ bojan or do a casemiro (I think casemiro)

I expect lemar, lascelles and oblak to sign but I have no idea why I have those three ahead of any other rumours haha.
every season is interesting but this is definitely the biggest struggle we have had in a long time with NO optimism at all within the fan base from what I have seen.

6.) 06 Jun 2018 14:02:38
Can’t understand the Lascelles, we have players in youth, and for £45 million is mad,

7.) 06 Jun 2018 19:14:28
Haighton 87: The lack of Champions League will have a small impact but not all players can get in a CL team. We are in the Europa league, OK a secondary tournament but European competition all the same and Chelsea are a prestigious club BUT the key will be getting a manager that players want to work with first and foremost.

8.) 07 Jun 2018 09:02:54
i disagree. the champions league is not the europa league and i genuinely believe we deserved to finish where we did, so unless we win the europa, we could find ourselves again without champions league football - we simply can't attract big names (in my opinion) when battling the likes of city, united, liverpool and sadly now spurs - unless we pay well over the odds, which the past fews seasons tell me this is something we are reluctant to do.

if that is the case, then please bring through the youth.

04 Jun 2018 12:42:52
Hello, I have seen loads on TBo as im sure the rest of you have. I think its safe to say he will be sold. ED are you aware of any replacements we would look to get in as a replacement or would cabalerro get a chance? I think he is a very good GK but not good enough for us to mount a title challenge.
cheers.

ChelseaScot

{Ed001's Note - from what I am told there are a number of potential options, but it depends where Courtois goes. The club are not intending to rely on Caballero.}

1.) 04 Jun 2018 15:24:27
I must have missed something.
Wasn’t Courtois our first choice keeper when we won the league?

2.) 04 Jun 2018 16:30:18
Im not sure what you mean tom. he was yes but he is not signing a new contract as he has young family in spain and a questionable attitude, I understand it is outwith the clubs hands.

3.) 04 Jun 2018 16:36:12
I think he is talking about big willy Tom mate.

4.) 04 Jun 2018 16:55:35
Apologies Scott for my stupid and sarcastic response.

A different kind of question,

which player would you take from the other 5 teams in the top 6? try be realistic.

city - sane
Liverpool - Robertson
spurs - erikson
arsenal - guendouzi
utd - martial.

ChelseaScot

1.) 26 Apr 2019 11:48:28
Aguero
Robertson
Son
Lacazette
Lauren James from united women just to stop that stupid rumour haha.

2.) 26 Apr 2019 12:45:34
Bernardo Silva
Van Dijk
Son
Aubameyang
Pogba.

3.) 26 Apr 2019 13:52:30
ooh never thought on b silva, he must be just about peps first name on the team sheet atm. I think he has been their best midfielder this season and expect that to continue with KDB maybe having a Hargreaves like career with injuries now.

4.) 26 Apr 2019 15:30:03
Guendouzi?! Why?

5.) 26 Apr 2019 18:13:27
City - Sane
Spurs - Son
Liverpool - Robertson
Man United - None
Arsenal - Aubameyang.

6.) 26 Apr 2019 18:16:17
City - Zinchenko or Mendy
Liverpool - Gomez
Spurs - Son
Arsenal - Lacazette
United - Rashford.

7.) 26 Apr 2019 19:57:46
City walker
Utd pogba
Arsenal ghendouzi
Spurs kane
Liverpool van dick

4 2 3 1.

8.) 26 Apr 2019 23:53:52
Mendy? He spends more time on the injury table than the likes of Sturridge/ Welbeck/ Wilshere.

Man Utd- Rashford/ Martial
Spurs- Alli/ Son
City- Sterling/ B. Silva
Liverpool- Gomez/ Van Dijk
Arsenal- Bellerin/ Aubameyang

I picked two from each club. One HG and one not.

Chelsea fans,

here is my prediction
butland
kovacic
zaha

I think 2 of 3 will come through.

now, which of these 3 would you ideally keep (assuming no replacements come in)

tammy Abraham
morata
giroud
batsuyai

I find it to be a good and bad predicament.
not one of these strikers, for me, is very alike to another however not one of them is prolific. yet.
I think ideally id send tammy to Newcastle or palace (zaha deal)

on kovacic, I just wonder if the courtois deal will be sweetened with this, real won't want bad feelings with Chelsea, its likely they return for hazard next year.

ChelseaScot

1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:13:53
Mateo Kovačić is an excellent player. There is just one problem. He wasn't regular starter at Real Madrid and he wasn't starter for Croatia (not the first 11 choice) .
Chelsea has Fabregas, Barkley, RLC and Drinkwater fighting for 2 CM positions. If we sign Kovačić who will leave? Also Kante, Jorginho and Bakayoko will be fighting for 1 position. Who is about to leave?

2.) 07 Aug 2018 16:12:23
we will play with 3 cm this year.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 16:25:58
By bringing in kovacic we are finally looking for players like can play in the formation/ way the manager wants. Not only does he have a good engine like Kante but he’s also very good on the ball. Kante and kovacic either side of Jorginho will then benefit Jorginho to play his game.

23 Jul 2018 16:10:00
it seems sari has promoted Hudson odoi to the first team squad. new contract incoming too.

ChelseaScot

1.) 23 Jul 2018 17:11:12
That would be a great move by Sarri he is the future and good enough to be the present as well. I think Barkley could turn out to be a real gem under Sarri him Jorghino and Kante as a midfield 3 sounds good the me with Rlc Cesc and Drinkwater or Bakayoko rotating.

2.) 23 Jul 2018 18:15:19
Should sell Drinkwater and Baka. Baka isn’t a Sarri player. Good point on the starting 3 though. I think Kante, Jorginho and Barkley is a complete midfield. But we should use Loftus-Cheek, Ampadu and Cesc for rotation. I prefer Ampadu as a CDM.

3.) 23 Jul 2018 20:57:46
Good call king frank yeah we’d be better trimming the squad and using more youngsters to fill the squad berths.

12 Jul 2018 14:57:06
conte has been sacked.

ChelseaScot

1.) 12 Jul 2018 15:49:53
Nothing to celebrate.

2.) 12 Jul 2018 17:12:06
nothing but respect and love for conte did a great job last season he wasnt happy we move on.

3.) 12 Jul 2018 17:49:14
The Conte news and England’s loss has cost me in the pocket but as Chelsea fans we are used to the departure of managers
My fellow posters know I wanted Conte to stay. I thank him for bringing us two more pots and I wish him all the best for the future.
I welcome our new manager and I hope he continues to make my club a successful club.

I personally think he will never be good enough for a top 4 club and we should cash in while he is on the up. if he does stay I will support him though of course.

LOVE THAT SAIM, I once had a soft spot for everton but really really hate them now. 8/ 10 fans think they are a top 4 club and I wasn't a fan of them punting big sam! however, will be interesting to see how both them and west ham get on. a bottom half finish is surely failure after their investments. back to barkley, if he knuckles down and invests in sari's philosophy I believe he could be the goal scoring midfielder we are looking for. (I just wonder if Oscar would have done the job perfectly, I wonder if he would ever return)
