Did Sandro ever sign a contract extension with Juve? Just seems that he hasn't been mentioned in the media for a while, so I'm assuming it's dead in the water?

Geffro

{Ed002's Note - Not at this time.}

1.) 23 Jul 2017 09:38:28
Thanks for the update!

2.) 24 Jul 2017 04:02:19
Wow so its not dead yet. Maybe we are trying to utilise Matic in a potential deal.

08 Apr 2016 07:09:50
Hazard has been put up for sale apparently.

Are Chelsea genuinely interested in taking Lukaku back? Can't see it happening, as I doubt he'd want to come back?

Geffro

1.) 05 Apr 2016 12:11:37
Maybe if Drogba came back in some capacity.

2.) 05 Apr 2016 12:20:54
Ed has said repeatedly that he won't be coming back.

3.) 05 Apr 2016 14:20:09
If RA decides to bring him back there will be no obstacles from Chelsea.

04 Apr 2016 07:40:38
According to the papers, Chelsea are now trying to offload Costa to PSG. 😕.

Geffro

1.) 04 Apr 2016 08:17:16
"According to the papers". That should tell you all you need to know. They rarely have a clue of the reality that's going on ;-)

2.) 04 Apr 2016 12:35:33
It's not a case of 'off-loading' more a case of Costa wanting to go. It wouldn't surprise me if a Griesmann-Costa swap is looked at.

3.) 04 Apr 2016 15:18:31
According to the papers he's off to China for 70 million so I wouldn't take their words as gospel.

29 Mar 2016 00:47:52
Is it looking likely Domingos Quina will leave?

Geffro

1.) 29 Mar 2016 12:44:24
And Aina's contract ends in the summer - we have to start demonstrating to our young players that they will get a chance - BY PLAYING THEM!

2.) 29 Mar 2016 13:10:23
Have we heard of him before now? I think the media is just hyping him.

So where exactly is The Ox going to play? He's not good enough to play on either attacking wing, so is he most likely to play RWB?

Geffro

1.) 28 Aug 2017 18:27:16
Personally I see him as Moses backup.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 18:48:54
Don't think he will be signing if he thinks we are going to use him as back up to Moses.

3.) 28 Aug 2017 18:50:59
£35m and God only knows what he wants per week for a back-up, absolute waste.

4.) 28 Aug 2017 20:04:06
I would rather play with 10 men then see him play CM he's that bad there. Clearly Conte thinks he can improve him. But the only position I'd personally play him if I was the manager would be as a winger. He's not defensively good enough for either RWB or CM.

5.) 28 Aug 2017 20:35:50
I'm very happy we're signing the Ox. Young England international who can play many positions. Conte can mould him how he likes . Can't wait to see him in a Chelsea shirt!

6.) 28 Aug 2017 20:48:32
I remember lots of fans saying the same sort of crap when we signed Alonso.
I trust Conte.

7.) 28 Aug 2017 20:57:35
Thank God the club and Conte choose the players we require and what position they play! '

8.) 28 Aug 2017 21:07:58
Think he would prefer Liverpool, we appear to be trying to rush signing before they become involved.

9.) 28 Aug 2017 21:41:05
lol Moses in a few games will be sub Ox better player.

10.) 28 Aug 2017 23:00:08
Not sure what games you've been watching of Ox playing wing back but he's been mediocre at best. Ed001, what's your opinion on the Ox in that position? An upgrade on Moses?

{Ed001's Note - tough one that, Moses has improved so much while Ox hasn't. However he is much stronger physically and, on a good day, can be better. Moses is much more consistent though. You know what you get with Moses, whereas Ox can be dross one day and brilliant the next. I would stick with Moses and I expect Conte to use Ox as a utility player, cover in the centre, forward positions and wingback, rather than to replace anyone.}

11.) 29 Aug 2017 07:13:41
Good answer Ed001, about what I would hope for but once again a lot to pay for a utility player.
TomB: I seriously doubt AOC is Conte's choice; how could he possibly see a talent based on the in and out season he had. Most people were underwhelmed by Alonso's signing and he won us over with his shooting/ dead ball skills and aerial ability but as a wing back he is too slow and defensively poor and clearly Conte thinks so.
Disappointed that Boga is likely to go out on loan.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair, in this market it is a cheap buy! The prices are crazy. It also allows Chelsea to operate with a smaller squad as he can provide cover in a few positions. So he, in effect, saves you money by meaning you need to buy less players and pay their wages. With Ox, it is his mentality that is the issue and that is Conte's strength, getting those who are not up for it mentally to perform consistently.}

Has anyone any interest in the CB at Ajax Sanchez I think this lad will be one for the future and suited to the premier league.
Red colts
{Ed002's Note - Barcelona and Chelsea. }.

Geffro

1.) 07 Aug 2017 22:03:21
He'd be great for Vitesse :D.

2.) 07 Aug 2017 22:19:51
Ah yes, Ed002 had already mentioned him earlier this summer. While I don't think we need another CB (not at all necessary), I'd much rather have Sanchez for a decent price than spend over 50m on the overrated Van Dijk.
Sanchez wants Barcelona though.

3.) 07 Aug 2017 22:54:02
Hmm begs to ask is there are any top player/ youngster that wants Chelsea these days?

4.) 08 Aug 2017 07:06:15
Sarr from The French league. Thinks it's nice or Rennes he plays for?

5.) 08 Aug 2017 07:41:59
Bakayoko wanted us, Eli. As did Kante :-)

6.) 08 Aug 2017 10:00:31
Fair enough Jackson, but I remember when Neymar wanted us too but we couldn't negotiate a fee for him. Pat Nevin even thought we should pay what it took yo get him back then well that's all in the past now. I just think players that sign cause they actually value the club and not their pocket usually hit new heights as they eventually put their all on games.

7.) 08 Aug 2017 13:51:57
I understand, Eli. The Neymar thing, I get why we didn't sign him way back. If you read what Barcelona had to pay to his dad etc. just to get him, Chelsea would never do that. It's obscene what they did to get him. Chelsea want clean deals :-)

So I keep seeing loads of talk about Dybala, but it's left me a bit curious. Constantly he's mentioned here as everyone's dream signing, along with Greizman (who I agree with) . But I've seen him a few times and although he's good, I personally don't see him as the missing link. Is it a Fifa 17/ football manager thing, which constantly keeps the stats boys drooling or is he actually that good?

Geffro

1.) 19 Feb 2017 10:58:20
He actually is awesome player. Works really hard, has an eye for goal and can dribble. Would love him in front 3 with hazard and costa.

2.) 19 Feb 2017 21:27:28
He's anabsolute player.

Not just flicks abs tricks, he decisive and direct.

3.) 21 Feb 2017 13:45:42
Take some time over the next few weeks to watch Juventus (Dybala in particular) play and believe me you will understand. To me he is a far more exciting player than Griezmann.

4.) 21 Feb 2017 15:54:29
Both are great talents, but I would pick Dybala any day.

18 Dec 2016 16:10:57
There's now loads of rumours that we're going to bid £75M James Rodriguez shortly. Thing is, I'd much rather we invested that money in to someone like Griezman. Surely he'd be around that fee or not much more? I do realise that James is the same position as Oscar, so it would be a direct replacement, whereas Griezman is a forward. But one of the reasons Oscar didn't get a game is because our formation doesn't suit an Oscar/ James attacking midfielder type player.

Geffro

{Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that.}

1.) 18 Dec 2016 16:15:29
As in it would need to be a direct replacement that we go for?

2.) 18 Dec 2016 18:35:50
Mostly likely that whilst the fees would be similar, James Rodriguez is on the fringes of the first team at Real Madrid, whereas Griezmann is probably the first name on the team sheet at Atletico. One player is possibly available but the other is not.

3.) 18 Dec 2016 19:00:36
Of course the important question, would he even want to come. Griezmann, even if he became available.

4.) 19 Dec 2016 20:43:59
Ed002 said before he would be willing to move to Us, but Chelsea won't be held to ransom.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has threatened to sue Chelsea over their proposed move for defender Kalidou Koulibaly

Geffro

1.) 14 Jun 2016 22:35:31
I saw those articles also with quotes from the Napoli president who seems to be more angry with the player, who made remarks about reaching out to 'big clubs interested in him' due to Napoli not increasing his wages on a new deal. The player never mentioned Chelsea by name and this seems like the usual player/ agent spin to get higher wages/ new contract but the Napoli president imo has overreacted saying a club must have influenced the player and the comments by the player has cost Napoli millions in pending TV deals and the player's kit sales. It seems bizzare and messy and personal similar to last year's Everton saga.

I thought Scottish players were classed as home grown?

{Ed002's Note - They are in Scotland. Why would they be HG in England?}

That was meant that I was end in unfortunately.

But you never know. If we were to offer the £60M that we're offering for Sandro, maybe the player himself could be keen?

Geffro

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't hold your breath.}

Candreva's agent has said he won't be moving unfortunately.

Geffro

{Ed002's Note - Candreva's agent was only told yesterday (by a representative of l'OM) that Inter have been negotiating for his replacement and that came as a surprise to him.}
