David Luiz is vindicated, 0-3 to Bournemouth, Bad Selection, poor management, poor substitution. etc. its time to go.

At half-time, with the score at 0-0, a team talk along the lines that Chelsea were playing Bournemouth not Barcelona might have worked wonders, that and a couple of substitutions to replace the liability that is Tiemoue Bakayoko and the ineffective Ross Barkley. In the end, the Blues did make Bournemouth look like Barcelona, quite what will happen when they do play Barcelona in a couple of weeks is anyone's guess.
Tiemoue Bakayoko - On a day when striker Michy Batshuayi was shipped out on loan for not being effective enough in Conte's eyes, the question is, what exactly does the Chelsea boss continue to see in Bakayoko? Clumsy and inept, he gave the ball away and was the architect in chief of this Chelsea calamity.
Cahill - Caught all too often out of position as Bournemouth subsequently ran Chelsea ragged, Cahill failed to rally his teammates and looked a spent force by the time the ref blew the final whistle.

Let me point out one of the most effective defenders in a 3 man defence (HARRY MAGUIRE) Of Hull City. He has three advantages Homegrown, comfortable on the ball âš½ and can score goals and he will come cheaper than the players that are being linked to CFC. What do you think fellow fans and eds.

Can't agree more ED. He won't be any upgrade to any current defender we have.
With Christensen coming back we either need to sign a top top defender or don't sign anyone.

Don't get me wrong here, I love Zouma and he is one beast of a defender, strong and quick but he is not a footballer, and by that I mean technically he is not good enough and when you play 3 at the back you need all 3 centre backs to be able to play out with the ball. Against the top european teams we could get pegged back too easily. That is why the club are targeting the return of Christensen and the likes of van Dijk.
{Ed001's Note - I disagree, for one I think he is better on the ball than you give him credit for and secondly there is no need for all three to be good on the ball. It is usually one ball playing defender amongst the three, sometimes two, very rarely all three. You still need at least one to be an aggressive defender, who just defends and gives the ball to better players.}

Nothing bad to say about zouma. Absolute beast of a player! Love every aspect of his game and was devastated when he got injured. I'm full sure he would be a regular. By now if it wasn't for that. Best central defensive talent out there.

Fully agreed, Ed. They don't all have to be a Bonucci or Luiz on the ball. But Zouma is decent on the ball, hè just looks a little awkward (kinda like Sakho) . But he's one heck of a beast defender.
I don't know why we're interested in Van Dijk. Christensen coming back should be plenty good.

For the life of me I can't understand why we're being linked with centrehalves. Our back three is up there with the best defenders in football. Then we have Christensen and Zouma who if they were playing for other teams we would be talking about £50m talents and Ake has already garnered a bid of £20m. All of the defenders we're linked with would cost £50m and would at best be marginal improvements. I absolutely adore Zouma and think he should be in the team over Gaz but at the very least this will give his body and mind time to recover from the injury.

I have to some what agree with you Ed001. Defensively we were terrible/ blessed. On another day we could have lost that game by an extensive margin. Our main weakness is we cannot play from the back. We're terrible at it in fact. Alonso for me is poor, I know a lot will not agree but he isn't on the level I'd expect for Chelsea. There's a hype about Moses and he has been impressive but once the hype wears off I fear he will be average. Costa for me has been a revaluation under conte, his positioning has improved massively, I can honestly say in not seen a forward as impressive with the ball at his feet as costa. His temperament also has been massively improved. Overall it's been a good few weeks but I'm reluctant to get carried away. I'm counting the days until zouma is back in contention, hopefully he will edge Cahill out the side. In any case COYB.
{Ed001's Note - Costa has been sensational recently. I do agree that the defensive line does need a replacement for Cahill, he is a weak link. Luiz is perfect for the system, he just needs better alongside him.}

The fact that Citeh targeted our Left rather than the right (where we have 2 players playing in unfamiliar positions) just shows that it's definitely our weaker side.

Agree Fuser we got exploited there to often and teams are starting to catch on were our wealness is. We have to look at strengtening our squad in a few places but overall we look atrong for a top 3 finish even the league winners if we can keep our defence up.

Alonso is more of a worry for me. Better than we had but not quite good enough defensively. Mose gets out of trouble with his pace but needs a guiding hand with his positioning as he got caught wandering. However, his increased confidence and pace and he is a revelation so far.

I just hope we don't all panic if we have a bad game and loose, I hope if Moses has 1 bad game we don't get on his back, I would take 4 th right now, and go for the title next season, it's so important to get into the champions league again we can't have 2 seasons out, or our best players will want to move on, I want 4 th place and if we finish any higher it's a bonus.

Sensible attitude Cat. We are doing well, if anything looking a little like the counter attacking team of Mourinho's first reign. However, injuries will expose us in certain areas especially up front where Bats has not caught my imagination for a £30m+ player just yet and it is clear that Willian slows us down the minute he comes on so our reliance on Costa and Hazard is huge. We need a good result against a top team to feel we are really making progress; Man Utd would have been ideal but they were awful and I think Mourinho may well be on his way by season end with his bizarre ranting.

out of 30 points we can only muster 11 points! meaning in the last ten games played we only won 2 and lost 3 and drew 5. this is only usually good enough for a 15th placed team. it is not good enough for a Top 4 team, it is not only losing the last two games, the writing has been on the wall for a while now.

Because almost all of us cfc fans believe mourinho can get the best iut of any player, why not go into the season like this and save the club massive amount of money, I don't know about many fans, it is absurd as long as there is any available striker the fans will be calling for him to be signed up, who guaranteed that he can fit into cfc squad, no matter what his statistics in the past are, e.g kezman shevchenko torres pizzaro etc. Be careful what you wish for, with miurinho touch torres can deliver even lukaku can be world class, for preference see lampard tape on mourinho.

During MOU first stint we virtually have two strong team why do people want to get rid of this guys that are happy to play even from the bench, we got moses in jan. and he won us 4 matches, they didn't demand first team football they fairly good in their own right, like moses who like to take on defenders head on, please stop all this for god sake, we need a fairly strong bench to challenge on all front, biz a biz he counts as one of five home grown players

If conte can axe Cahill and fabregas from the 1st you will be surprised at the result, the league will be ours to lose, He brought this on us and himself for perpetually using them, if he haven't the guts of axing Terry from the 1st team last season we wouldn't have won the league.

When Barcelona gave chance to their academy players look what they become we just need to trust ourss because they are extremely good they can be as good as any other world class player. Trust is the key.

It is Fabregas that was supposed to have been removed. No doubt he can pick out short and long passes but he lost his wits he can't dribbles past a single player and can't hold onto the ball âš½ for a merely 10 seconds, therefore whenever he is in the team we always lost the midfield to our opponents. Just go back and watch the games he played and view them without the matchsay tension and you will see what I mean.

Cesc's only positive in the match is the assist. Ge is the reason we struggle in midfield.
