According to some sources this morning Chelsea would want £100 million for Jackson amid strong interest from AC Milan and a number of premier league clubs. let's see how this pans out and I'm not even going to guess what he might sell for as the market is crazy high.

Greenaway

There is, absolutely no way Italian clubs would pay £30mil for Jackson.

They will probably want him on a 5 year loan, us pay his wages and give them a few million for their begging bowl.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 15:16:21
I think the £100 million is a message to any suitors Bill indicating that the club do not want to sell and the player is happy to stay but if you really do want him the fee will be £100 million and in this money mad market who knows?

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 19:11:34
Agree with your assessment Greenaway, just fed up with Italian clubs coming to us with their begging bowls.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 19:20:52
Greenaway, do you actually believe the club are asking £100 million for Jackson. I have no idea whether the club wants him to stay or he wants to stay but I’m sure if we were offered £50 million we would say yes. As I said previously, his game time will be limited next season.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 21:04:51
I haven’t got a clue what the CF pecking order will be for next season. At this stage in the relative careers I think Jackson offers more than Delap.

I think the £100m Chelsea price tag comes from the Daily Mail. I think there point is Chelsea don’t want to sell him so have put a prohibitive price on any potential sale. It’s all just people guessing.

Agree0 0Disagree

16 Jul 2025 10:21:34
I’ve no idea of the order for next season, although at the start I’d expect Pedro and Delap will be ahead. We should also remember that Jackson isn’t only an option through the middle.

Agree0 0Disagree

10 Jul 2025 23:28:43
Noni to Arsenal all agreed, deal worth in excess of £50 million. I think he was bought for £26 million so doubled our money on him, smart bit of business. Rumours that Jackson is next for circa £70 million.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

11 Jul 2025 07:54:46
For a while I was happy for Noni to stay but about a month or so ago I was told about his lack of discipline, including being late for training, that for me shows a lack of respect. Anyway £52m is a reasonable price.

I wonder what happens now. I think George should go out on loan. So, I guess we might go for another wide player. Although, the forgotten about Kellyman can apparently play wide.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Jul 2025 08:41:49
Tom

Just wondering how we could rely on Kellyman when he was on the medical table all of last season and was injured even before he joined us.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Jul 2025 08:47:54
Should also have said, George should be given a chance.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Jul 2025 09:24:46
I liked Noni when he first signed Tom but he has never really kicked on and his petulance is rather annoying, no real end product and it appears Maresca is getting the final say on how he re-shapes the squad, the SD's gave him lots of players last summer and he promptly handed quite a few back and they now need moving on! good to see the head coach being listened to at last. I imagine Neto will play on the right with Estevao covering/ competing with him and Gittens will play on the left with either George/ A. N. Other covering/ competing. Palmer as the 10 with maybe Nkunku staying? as cover? lots of variables of course. Jackson to villa with Morgan-Rodgers to us is a possibility. The squad is taking shape and with Petrovich going to Bournemouth and Penders off to Strassbourg on loan I do now see a keeper coming in? But who? especially as the club don't want to block Penders route to the first team possibly after just one season gaining experience at Strassbourg. Great watching it unfold though especially as my Arsenal supporting mates go into total meltdown over Noni joining them.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Jul 2025 11:09:54
If we do sell Noni for £50 million it’s a good deal as for Jackson he has fallen down the pecking order so probably best for him to go but I can’t see any club paying anywhere near £70 million for him. Personally, I think we have enough forwards and would bring in a keeper and top class CB and concentrate on outgoings to balance the books.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 Jul 2025 17:23:22
Bill, I think George needs regular football and a loan may well provide him with that.

I wouldn’t suggest we rely on Kellyman but I would guess a managed return to playing football, such as domestic cups, might well work for him.
.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 13:40:23
How about we give him regular game time Tom.

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 14:56:31
Bill, apparently his injury has been far worse than originally thought. My guess is a gradual and well managed introduction would be perfect for the young lad.

Agree0 0Disagree

13 Jul 2025 04:53:33
Anyway, Kellyman playing wide wouldn’t be a long term solution. He may have occasionally played out wide ish but his natural position is as an AM.

Agree0 0Disagree

13 Jul 2025 10:30:31
Tom, I believe Bill meant give George regular game time, not Kellyman.

Agree0 0Disagree

13 Jul 2025 11:57:37
Cech, I have just proved yet again, that I am a silly old duffer. Sorry Bill.

Agree0 0Disagree

06 Jul 2025 18:37:05
I can't say I look at every rumour but I do enjoy them.

So far, I have been surprised that CG hasn't been rumoured to be leaving AM. Lots of English clubs should be interested in him as a very good squad player who gives 100% in every game. Mind you it's probably very nice living in Madrid.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

07 Jul 2025 10:39:07
conor started ok Tom but soon got relegated to the bench and although liked by the crowd for his constant running and launching into tackles the coach has preferred more technically gifted players, no real surprise there, and he is seen as available if the right offer comes in.

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Jul 2025 21:58:28
If, the club can sell Noni for double what they paid and then replace him with a Kudus or Nwaneri. some piece of business that.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

06 Jul 2025 09:47:09
Dan, a lot of my happy hammers mates say be careful about signing Kudos. They hate the spuds more than us and want him to go there, if that makes sense. I don’t know much about the gooner lad but he might be ambitious for trophies and want to leave. 😁.

Agree1 0Disagree

07 Jul 2025 07:45:56
I agree about Kudus. Yes he takes players on and dribbles but tends to go up blind alleys or loses possession. Poor end product certainly no better than anyone we have.

Agree1 0Disagree

03 Jul 2025 10:17:48
A rumour today that Arsenal now want Jackson? That lot over there appear obsessed with our players in recent years. We are linked with Garcia from Real Madrid as a replacement.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

03 Jul 2025 13:25:03
That would be a really good move Greenaway but I thought he left City as he was homesick.

Agree0 0Disagree

04 Jul 2025 13:12:37
Sorry Greenaway, I was thinking about Alvarez who went to AM.

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Jul 2025 08:37:03
We must make the compromise on osihmen. We to compete next season and a proven striker won't be a bad idea.
Understand his wage Is way too much but think we can try beat a little down.

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Jul 2025 22:07:56
Tusole, I truly believe we tried desperately to sign him last summer and I just can’t see us improving on the terms we offered him then and no agreement could be reached . I think that ship has sailed .

Agree1 0Disagree

07 Jul 2025 09:25:31
I think Arsenal want Gyokeres (68 oals from last 66 matches) from Sporting and I believe they're ods on to sign him. If so doubt they'd want Jackson as Havertz and Trossard can also obviously play up front as well as oin midfield or on the left respectively.

Agree0 0Disagree

02 Jul 2025 11:13:18
Agent Kepa has signed for Arsenal and now looks like Noni might be following him out the door if todays rumour mill is anything to go by? or as the great ED02 would say, is this twitter? either way he splits opinion more than most.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

02 Jul 2025 13:09:32
Nice to see the Kepa, saga over, I have never forgiven him for his cup final outburst.

Regarding Nomi, I like his directness and I believe he has much more to offer, that being said, I'm not to sure about his attitude.

Agree1 0Disagree

02 Jul 2025 15:08:38
Madueke I would bite arsenal's hand off if it had a tenner in it
Can't pass cross dribble or beat a defender.

Agree0 0Disagree

02 Jul 2025 17:26:31
Well obviously Newcastle and Arsenal think he can do all those things. Apparently £45m plus some add ons secures the deal.

Another player I’ve got splinters about.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2025 19:33:46
I’ve always quite like Noni - just don’t agree with the characterisation either of his play or his personality. For me, he has made a decent fist of things on both wings, can beat a man on either side and has a bit of something about him. Not consistent, but there you go. He’s a winger.

I’d keep him.

Agree0 0Disagree

04 Jul 2025 16:34:07
I would keep him as well but if Arsenal or Newcastle put up the £45 million or so to buy him that represents a good profit on the £20 million or so he cost so you never know?

Agree0 0Disagree

12 Jul 2025 08:13:11
If he had all those things Tom we wouldn't sell him.

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Jun 2025 19:12:53
Looks like j pedro signing done. just no idea what the strategy is here unless jackson is leaving? he's not better thsn jackson or delap . dodgy injury record and discipline issues. another baffling signing at a time where we shouldve been looking to improve the team.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

29 Jun 2025 19:49:34
I haven’t seen that confirmed but I see him as a replacement for Nkunku not Jackson. Time will tell.

29 Jun 2025 20:30:39
I guess it all depends on how Jackson sees it Tom.

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Jun 2025 20:57:07
Im guessing hel replace both felix and NKunku in the squad and will probably rotate with gittens off the left >I think he will surprise any fan whos scratching his head.

29 Jun 2025 21:03:06
Bill, as far as I’m concerned if a player isn’t prepared to fight for his place then he can leave anytime he likes.

As I’ve said in a previous post I will wait and see him play in Chelsea Blue before I make my judgement.

I agree Poch, I think he is a replacement for Nkunku and Felix I think will end up at Benfica on loan.

Agree0 0Disagree

30 Jun 2025 09:06:07
Totally agree Tom, if a player is frightened of competition then let him go.

There is talk about Pedro's injury record. However, I seem to remember Neto had the same issue and that turned out just fine for us.

Agree0 0Disagree

03 Jul 2025 19:35:40
He’s just another option and a bit of a different one. Sometimes you’ll want Delap’s strength and ball carrying, others you’ll want Jackson’s ability both to link and to stretch play, then you might want Pedro dropping in and playing the ball through. It’s all about options for different problems.

Agree0 0Disagree

05 Jul 2025 22:09:27
FD77, good description of the different options that we need.

23 Jun 2025 19:59:20
If the media reports are accurate, Utd are showing an interest in Nkunku.

I have also just seen a quote from Matt Law suggesting some sort of deal with us taking Garnacho.

I am not a massive fan of Garnacho as a player and I would much prefer Gittens.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

23 Jun 2025 20:37:04
Tom

These type of deals never work, just look at the one with CG and JF.

If we don't want Nkunku then sell him.

I also believe Gittens will end up at Bayern.

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jun 2025 20:56:46
I think we will sign them both Tom and send George on loan. Garnacho is very talented, home grown, has a goal in him but does come with a bit of attitude so like you I'm unsure on him but if cash comes our way and we get rid of that lazy fecker Nkunku I will be pleased. Gittens is a very direct winger who will give us another option and I think this one will happen. Neto is top drawer and a brilliant pick up in the summer 24 wimdow and I expect him, Palmer and Estevao Willian to slot in behind Delap with Noni, Garnacho and Gittens giving strong back up. Jackson to stay or go will be the interesting one for me.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jun 2025 07:36:51
It’s almost written in stone that he leaves this summer. But, it’s a shame that we’ve ever really seen Nkunku as an inside left forward alongside Palmer as an inside right forward - both behind a decent striker.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jun 2025 08:21:26
Greenaway

I did not think we would let Jackson go but there continues to be a lot of media noise at the moment.

One thing is for sure, we need at least another striker in before this happens, if it does and the movement needs to be early in the window.

I still think Gittens will finish up in Munich.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jun 2025 09:16:56
Bill, I remain hopeful/ confident that Gittens will be joining us.

I am also hopeful of another forward joing and then I assume Guiu will go out on loan. Maybe to Ipswich.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Jun 2025 15:09:58
Bill, I have just been told Gittens is a done deal and will be announced shortly. He joins Chelsea.

24 Jun 2025 17:00:52
I don’t believe that even our SDs would be pea-brained enough to consider Garnacho. As a player his lightweight and lazy. More worryingly, his attitude stinks: Amorim and the Man U fans can’t wait to see the back of him.

24 Jun 2025 18:11:17
Thats great news Greenaway, really good signing.

ANYONE BUT GARNACHO! NO!

27 Jun 2025 11:01:57
Personally think it's a shame we've never got to see the best of Nkunku. He looked electric in the first few games back from injury. Seems a bit lost in Maresca's system (not unlike Gusto), and his body language this season hasn't read well at all – looks like petulance and downed tools, a lack of fight to win his place, which is disappointing (but I guess also somewhat inevitable if you're not sure what your place might actually be in the team in the way we're set up) .

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Jun 2025 11:34:37
The manager has a choice to make. If he plays with Palmer in the middle semi supporting our CF then Nkunku doesn’t get a game.

I personally would have dropped Palmer for a few games last season and given Nkunku a chance to impress. In that position.

If Palmer plays on the right then the dynamic and shape of the team changes probably to a 433 and then again Nkunku doesn’t get a game.

It’s a tough gig for the lad.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 Jun 2025 09:21:30
I kno it was ed1 who said long contracts can be a problem after the time because the incentivisation is gone and the player can do the 'down tool' because he's going to be payed by the club any way so it might be that and mudrik has 7 year as well.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 Jun 2025 09:32:56
I’m not sure I totally buy into the “length” of being the only reason a player might lose interest in giving his best.

Maybe a percentage of it is down to personal ambition, professionalism or just maybe money.

Whatever it is, some players just seem to lose there way!

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Jun 2025 21:15:14
Nkunku only has 3 years left on his contract, so not really a situation to down tools.

Agree0 0Disagree

29 Jun 2025 21:59:03
fuser, that’s why I’m not totally convinced about the length of contract argument.

I just think there are so many variables it’s just unlikely to be a one size fits all reason.

18 Jun 2025 17:46:28
Apparently, Mudryk has been charged with doping offence by FA.

Believable0 0Unbelievable

18 Jun 2025 21:06:58
Not surprised, now the lawyers will be involved to negotiate a period of suspension.

What we need is the lawyer who represented Sinner, the Italian tennis player.

Agree0 0Disagree

18 Jun 2025 21:13:38
The only surprise is, it’s taken so long to charge the lad.

Hope the young man can clear his name. I guess my surprise was that the drug is perceived to be a performance enhancing drug rather than what some see as a social drug!

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 08:17:52
Tom

They will try and throw the book at him however of he has a good lawyer, he might just be suspended for 18 months but has already served 6 months of that.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 08:51:32
Bill, maybe you are correct.

There are lots of things we don’t know. I assume that CFC perform regular drug tests on all the players. Maybe the club can show that just before he left to go on international duty he had tested negative and that might help the lad.

As things stand it’s the player who takes on responsibility for what goes into his body.

I guess that the press will start speculating about the terms of his CFC contract and maybe a so called “drugs clause. ”

There will be some nouse and lots of guessing but it now seems if all parties are going to make no further comment and that’s a wise move and normal.

{Ed001's Note - clubs almost never drug test their players.}

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 09:07:17
Tom. the fact that the drug is performance enhancing is worrying as he is a gym junkie.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 09:11:06
We move on. Lovely lad and that cameo in his first match against Liverpool had me drooling but so often made the wrong choice, brilliant skillset, pace to burn and an eye for goal but just no football brain. A real shame and I hope he gets the support he needs. With Sancho also departed I'm intrigued as to who will come in? lots being rumoured by the click bait pundits and red top rags but without the late great ED02 we are all clueless as to who it will actually be!

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 09:27:19
Ed, that’s surprising, maybe a cynic would suggest scared what they may find.

{Ed001's Note - maybe.}

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 09:37:07
Jimbo, I personally wouldn’t have a clue about his gym activities.

Seems like a nice humble young lad who on occasion looked to be stuck in the headlights. If that makes sense.

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 09:44:33
Mudryk apparently consumed the drug - he denies of course that this was intentional and he may be telling thr truth even if seems unlikely to many - while on international duty for Ukraine.

Apparently the club have been supporting him - not least it seems with mental health issues - in the six or more months since he was effectively suspended.

If I recall correctly, Paul Pogba in roughlu similar situation had an eighteen month suspension sentence rather than the 4 years maximum. Now if MM has already been suspended for 6 months, perhaps he could effectively only serve a further year if lawyers do a good job.

BUt yes Sinner's layweres did a fantastiuc job for him!

Agree0 0Disagree

19 Jun 2025 22:19:11
have no idea about Mudryk whether he knew what he put in his system or not. However, we should not be celebrating the fact that people who can afford to pay expensive lawyers can avoid the consequences of their actions. A classic example of that is drink driving. Most normal people put their hands up despite the consequences for their livelihood. However, people with money employ expensive lawyers to try and wriggle out if it. Shakespeare: Henry VI:” The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers “.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 06:45:25
If he feels that the charge is worth challenging then he should employ the “best” people he can afford to put forward his case/ argument.

20 Jun 2025 08:14:21
Totally agree Tom.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 15:41:35
Clearly drink drivers should not be able to - but sometimes do of course - get a lesser sentence because of being able to pay for rich lawyers. Drunk drivers climb into a car knowing they've been drinking and knowing that drink drivers like them can kill others in the car, in other cars and/ or themselves.

If Mudryk genuinely believes that he is innocenmt of what he consumed and that part of it was illegal in FIFA ruling - and though many will think his innocence unlikely it is possible and he has to have the right to argiue his case - then it is not wrong that he has good lawyers reprsenting him. What is wrong, and thios goes for so many other crimes, is that the poor may also get represented by seldom if ever get the best.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 16:43:08
Of course he has a right to challenge the charge. I can’t think of any athlete who hasn’t. Let’s hope it is resolved quickly. JBS poor people do get adequate legal representation in crime. However, unless you have money you can’t enforce your rights in civil law which is an area that is overlooked. I was part of a Class action for a data breach I got a few hundred quid; that is usually the only way normal people get civil wrongs remedied.

Agree0 0Disagree

20 Jun 2025 16:44:51
I don’t blame the rich for being rich. I have no envy in my body.

They have the ability to spend there money how they choose . I would like to think if I was sh£t pot loaded I would spend some of my money on the injustices of this world rather than trying to evade justice.

Anyway, it doesn’t matter cause I’m skint.

19 Jun 2025 09:47:17
Also no thank you from me unless we were ro replace Jackson with likes of GYokeres perhaps. But I do think Jackson could and shoukld get better and perhaps one misfortune is that he hasn't been in a squad with already seasoned striker (like a Giroud or Kane or Drogba or some such) to watch and gain advioce from.

11 Jun 2025 18:53:01
Matt Law who is usually pretty good on all things Chelsea is reporting that Petrovic asked to be left out of the CWC squad to "focus on his future. " Whatever that means.

If it's do with him "wanting" to leave then good luck to the lad.
