I said one game in this run wouldn't define us or maresca and that stands.
Neto looked good when on, veiga, and badiashile also, Jackson had two good moments in 97 minutes. the goal and in the 93rd minute when he kept the ball well and turned and bough ball away, apart from that he doesn't occupy the defence enough, doesn't contest balls in air or be on the tails of centre backs to apply pressure. our corners are horrendous considering we got in a set piece coach, we play 9/10 of them short.
In truth we didn't create anything, they worked harder and won most second balls, caceido was brilliant and palmer had a stinker (which is allowed from time to time).
Sanchez kicking / passing worried me and got lucky a few times.
Great to see lavia and Reece, although gusto being in the left meant he couldn't cross it so came back every time so become predictable.
Into Newcastle where it's almost a must win in the league; conference to get some confident fence back.

I've been involved in football for many years and to describe the game against newcastle, less than 10 games into the season as "almost must win" is utter nonsense.

West Side
I get what Todd B is saying.
We have played two top sides and lost both so if we lose to Newcastle, questions need to be asked about either the team, or the tactics used by Maresca.
I'm also concerned that a GK that Poch had no confidence in is now our first team GK and does not look like being dropped despite his worrying performances.

Apologies, when I refer to it as almost must win I mean in regards to noise about his appointment, the media pressure so to speak, if we don’t get a result the talk of how good can we do this season turns to “ Chelsea faced 3 top teams and lost all “.
