A lot gets said about our keeper situation and I agree, an upgrade on Sanchez would be nice, but who is out there who would 100% be an upgrade? I liked James Trafford but did anyone see him against Spurs? Onana was much sought after on this page but look at him? Even Donnarumma looked hopeless at the CWC? Martinez at Villa, a liability waithing to happen? Maignan seems to have lost his form and no one wants him? Penders may be the answer long term but I think we stick with the 3 we have this season.

The Forest keeper was mentioned as being a decent signing, so I’ve started to take note of his performances. There are only a few premiership keepers I have much time for.

There are only stand out in Europe who may be available some time soon is Costa but not in this window.

{Ed001's Note - I still think the Sheff Utd keeper Cooper would be a good buy for a Prem club.}

sels is decent Tom. ED01, you have mentioned Cooper before and I must take a look at him. I think the standard of goalkeeping has dropped off in recent years with only Alison at Liverpool being really top notch, the rest are much of much for me with Pickford possibly being the best of the rest and he is not much good either!

{Ed001's Note - very true, the standard is in a dip at the moment. There are very few top class ones around.}

I think the reason is that too much emphasis is put on GK's being able to olay with their feet and coming out for crosses and shot stopping is a forgotten art which is what a GK 's main role is.

Ed honest question we apppartently agreed terms with simmons a month or so ago, why are we only considering a bid, im confused of this whole situation, there is obviously encouragment if spurs have bid.

{Ed001's Note - I think the reports were just getting ahead of themselves.}

Looks like he is off to spurs then.

Most on here said we didn't need him?

I rate Simmons and I think he would make us less reliant on Palmer. I think it’s about competition for places and if it isn’t to be Simmons then it looks like it could be Lopez.

I also believe that all the squad will be used this season if that makes sense. I can see lots of players getting 30 plus games.

I think we may need another attacking midfielder given Palmer has just been injured and if this isn't too serious still suggests he will need rotation and a back up. Pedro can play this role I guess but to add either a Simons or Lopez from Barcelona (may be very expensive plus player may ot want to leave) . I've not seen much of either. Looks as though Simons may go to Spuds but perhaps there is still the chance of that Willian type steal and think Simons had preferred CFC though whether he still does who knows.

I take it all back ed? what i meant was wev done outstanding with outgoings but once again signed a pile of players that don't make our squad better bar pedro, i think delap is a decent optionnot prolific but decent option for the 30mill
gittens is no were near the standard and he barely got a game at dortmun 2nd half of the season,
garnacho is another 1 is he going to improve us? likely not but again decent ish option, if you combined gitten and garnacho fees and wages we could of rodrygo or someone elite

we have bob sanchez on goal for another he's absoloutely red raw useless

we should have made a keeper top priority i guess cwc fucked us really aa bob.

Sorry hit reply to early on the above,
We messed up big time with the goal keeping department,

We are again looking at an influx of young players signed, delap, garnacho, gittens, estevao and hato etc and santos, and its no different to any other summer under the ownership, we are going into another season with very little leadership and experience and a rubbish group of keepers, although im confident penders is that guy next season, and i hope bob proves us all wrong

Overall top 4 id take again and a few cup runs and i hope the likes of delap and co develop well and the team gels and starts learning how to break down teams who sit deep and close up shop against us

Hon the blues let's hope for a great season.
