I'm beginning to think this so called transfer guru Fabrizo Romano is a bit of a con man.

He picks up stories from other sources as if he has an exclusive bit of news and then during the day changes the story!

I haven’t posted on here in forever, but I do check it once in awhile. The page used to be awesome but it seems to have dwindled in the past year or so which is quite sad but it is what it is. With that said, I find it quite shocking for but for you to come on here and say that about someone who works really hard that is such a fleeting statement. For what reason would you call him a conman? He has amassed a lot of followers and respect in what he does, maybe you wouldn’t say he’s a traditional journalist, but my word to think he’s a conman. He doesn’t put an effort and work to have reached away has now it’s just disrespectful. In my opinion.

I do think he’s quite reliable and he always gives credits to the journalist who breaks the news first not to mention the number of exclusives. He has himself a seat covers also 7 to 10 leagues minimum a day. You saying this perhaps kind of makes me understand why Ed doesn’t share anymore on this page, it’s easy to sit down and write about people without actually knowing how hard they’ve worked and the effort they put into what they do.

Sorry for the rant, but I just popped onto page after a while and this was one of the first post I saw on I remembered why I actually stopped posting on here, I hope everyone is doing well, buzzing for the start of the new season.

ELI, good to have you back.

Surely one of the strengths of any site is for posters to give their personal views/ observations.

I may well be wrong with my assessment of FR and I generally admit I treat the majority of transfer rumours as just fun and rubbish. So, I am biased but his “tracking” of events yesterday were in my opinion at best hap hazzard.

The Ed’s comments are always welcome and the insight that Ed02 gives to transfers is most welcome. I don’t see all the crap they have to put up with but I do know I have put forward various views/ opinions that have been lambasted by Ed and others. That’s ok as I don’t take offence as long as it’s not personal but that’s just me.

TomB; there’s nothing con about Fabrizio Romano, he remains the most reliable European football journalist out there (when it comes to transfer) . He’s the best and the most connected football transfer journalist - his social media reach is testament of the man’s ability when it comes to European football transfer.

Obinna, I’m not convinced but I will admit it can’t be easy to keep fans up to date with all the twists and turns of any transfer.

I guess my gripe is the suggestion of exclusivity when others have already broken the story.

Eli welcome and I expect to have a cordial and better interaction. However you just stoke up an unnecessary controversy that could further enrage the eds. Sort of hypocrisy in that you are putting salts to injuries which is the opposite of we would wanted as a return note.

As bigoted and controversial tomb posts could be atimes fabrizio reports are the closest I have seen overtime as correct as the eds. Let's al acknowledge that this is a banter page first and we al shall be good.
Not in anyway undermining the Ed but I sometimes feel had Ed given us info when we yearn for them as he does for other club pages all these controversy may not have been possible.

Eds rule this page and obviously have been helpful with spot on information regarding our club and we have always appreciated him. It's unfortunate that he mainly get aggrieved to stop with valuable information on the page during transfers which imo is frustrating and breeds all these controversy.
Imo we should avoid being judgemental on our fellow posters and only jump and pass if not in agreement rather than mischievous.

Tom it’s very strange that you say the site is to give opinions etc but only recently you criticised myself and other posters regarding comments about Brighton and the apropos nothing you call a journalist a conman- you can’t have it both ways.

Jimbo, i have always championed opinions even the constant negative ones.

I made my comment about FB but added my reasons. I did not make a negative statement without backing it up with my reasoning.
