I haven't seen the player called Cherki. Is he any good?

He’s still very young Tom but extremely creative, good eye for a pass, full of flicks and tricks. He’s got that arrogance about him like Hazard had.

My worry would be his work rate, tracking back etc. but then I guess as long as he’s doing bits going forward that’s what matters most.

If I had to compare him I’d say he’s of a similar mould to a Juan Mata.

I can’t say I know him on a personal level, to comment on his attitude. I was talking about his style of play.

Cherki is one of the absolute best attacking talents that have burst onto the scene in the last years. His ball mastery is something you see in a player only every 5 or 10 years maybe. Ambipedal too.

He's one of the most creative players I've seen, great eye for a pass, and is a very strong dribbler. He's not like Doku who is an athletic freak with crazy acceleration, but through his exceptional control over the ball he can still take his man out. Should start adding a bit more goals too, remember that he's only 19 or 20 still.

Not the hardest working player defensively probably, but that's something that can be coached. And sometimes with elite attacking talents like him you let them expend a bit less energy on defense so they can carry you in attack (cfr. Eden Hazard) .

I would be very much in favour of getting Cherki if that's possible. Olise was my favourite option, and I'd also be fine with waiting a season and getting Olise next summer. But if Cherki is the alternative that'd also be fantastic for me.

I believe it was Wahi that we were warned to steer clear of. I think the reason we cooled on Cherki earlier in the summer was that Lyon were reluctant to sell.

Wahi definitely had issues but not sure about Cherki.
