I still have no idea what this project is and what they told the players who they signed for long contracts.
Football doesn't work on 5 years time, a week in football is a long time.
Ultimately in my opinion and it's obvious that the owners have made some serious mistakes and hopefully they realise that we need a change in management.

I totally agree. All this project talk, the project in football is to win your next game.

My guess is to buy players with potential that can be put on a suitable pay structure. Try to win games, try to win trophies.

It's either judged as a success or failure at the end of each season.

Tom, don't you think there is a clue to our problem in the 'project' of just buying players with potential rather than at least having a critical mass of a finished article into which that potential can be blended - even if we can see the trading/profit logic to the club's approach - in terms of winning the EPL or the ECL any time soon? In 2030, perhaps, if our best players stick with the project and most we buy with 'potential' can fulfill it, I suppose.

But players' confidence feeds off success, so we need to win a few things in the meantime. That is why the two rather odd competitions we won last season were helpful to the morale of the squad and fans. So I guess we can but hope we are able to win the FA Cup this season?!

JBS, My view is we have all been guilty of referring to the terms "project" and "process."

I personally am not a person who thinks age can be used as an excuse when it's clearly an owner's choice.

I would have bought different players, and maybe different types of players, but that is just me. The SDs are only rarely going to make me happy with a player or manager signing.
