For a bit of fun What was the most stupid sale of a player chelsea made in recent history? I'm sure we all have a few.

For me, I'll go for Olivier Giroud. The guy scored goals in a team where our strikers never score goals, and we sold him with no decent centre forward at the club. Worse yet, he's still scoring goals and playing well.

We certainly underplayed him Standard and although he was not a prolific scorer himself his link up play was excellent and he created space for others to chipmunk which in those days they did. Yes I go think we sold him too early but of course itcwascthpught Lukaku would be a mote prolific upgrade. Hindsight has proved this wrong and what with Broja injury that could not have been foreseen and DD Fofana youthfulness plus not bringing in Sterling - underwhelming - rather than Jesus say left us without an experienced and skilful and confident number 9.

{Ed001's Note - why Jesus? This is a guy that was in the team top of the league but being outscored by Nunez who was being crucified for not scoring enough! Jesus is terrible and is not a goalscorer at all. Horribly overrated player that somehow escapes criticism in the press despite being utterly underwhelming.}

You are probably right Ed001 and I guess what I was poorly trying to say was that if we were bringing in a City player then it should have been a striker not another and waning wide man. Completely agree that Nunez would be better. Would also add that of the three City sold I'd most have like Zivchenko.

{Ed001's Note - ok I understand what you mean now. You did desperately need a forward, but I agree Zinchenko was the best of the players they sold. Does seem to pick up a fair few niggly injuries though.}

What happened to Sterling, Ed001? How does a player like him look like an absolute fraud now before even turning 30?

{Ed001's Note - because he always had poor technique at striking a ball.}

Roman, no suprise. I was slated when Sterling was being mentioned as transfer in and I referred to him
as a Man City reject: nothing happened to him he was never that good.

Jimbo, some fans like certain players and some fans don’t, it’s the same with managers.

It would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things.

I always hope I’m proved wrong about certain players and certainly managers.
