Good day Ed002; please tell me that Chelsea is interested in Lesley Ugochukwu the Rennes DM. He’s a player.

Potential Thuram replacement for Nice but they have some very good youngsters coming through. Chelsea, who are after two DM players, have an excellent repationship with Rennes and have spoken with his agents and directly with the club. Clarification is being sought whether he would be shipped off the Strasbourg or not. A very viable and far cheaper alternative to Lavia and others.}

'very viable and cheaper indeed’, Lesley Ugochukwu is a player- I must confess, the guy has the tools to be a rock in defensive midfield.

I say, bring him to Chelsea now, if he doesn’t want to go to Strasbourg because he can play.

Never heard of him and only just looked at him on clips. Never a good way to judge a player but to me he looked slightly raw!

Tom the videos I just watch made him look like an ideal Pochettino DM.

I thought he looked very good (highlights)

Can easily see him ball winning and recycling in midfield and sitting into a three in defence when needed.

The 'Dier' role if you like.

He plays that Dier role perfectly Nathswindon and is just what we need. I hope he goes straight into the squad bearing in mind we are looking at signing 2 CDM's.

I’m happy to take on board all the feedback but as I say he looks work in progress to me and that’s not surprising given his age.

I want all our young players to progress and be given a chance to impress.

Desaily at Milan / Marseille might be a more appealing comparison.

I agree, he's young and raw, but so is Lavia who he appears to be an alternative to.

Nath, as long as it’s not Danny Dier? Having said that he may be a better player than the spuds Dier.

Anyway, I like the idea of investing in young players.

Tom, I agree with investing in young players, not sure what the club are going to do with this lad: expensive for a loaner. I would like to see some signings who might be starters though. As for Dier, he is one of the few, if any, English players who are multi-lingual; he is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and even more impressive he is able to understand what Harry Kane is on about.

Only seen YouTube vids but the lad looks great. Be nice to see with the first team squad this season. He could turn out to be another hidden gem like Nico Jackson.

Thinking out loud here, but is there a chance that Ugochukwu could be used in a deal to take Caicedo to Chelsea?

Ugochukwu to Brighton on loan, giving them a year to scout their own Caicedo replacement?

Just an idea that I came up with this morning and am probably way off, but could be possible.
