Wesley Fofana has made a rapid recovery considering the extent of his injury and is now back on the grass in light training.
Nkunku has a chance of being on the bench Saturday but won't be rushed.
Lavia is not far off being in the squad also.
Badiashile and Broja are back.
Finally all of the squad is starting to come together and i am finally getting some confidence now in this squad.

Badiashile is in my mind the quiet achiever here, he was great before his injury, very composed. I think/ feel he could/ will provide an excellant partner for a left footed Colwell or a right footed Silva in central defense. Left or right footed makes no difference if they're both on the same page!

I don't come on this page often but I see a lot of we should buy him in January and him. But myself I don't think we should sign anyone right now. The main thing we need to do is just let them develop.
Jackson is never going to be a Drogba but he's had a better start than Drogba did. Jackson relies more on pace but he has his own style. Drogba was more hold up play and bully but with time Jackson may also gain that. He's 21 and causing defenders nightmares already. Yes he should have scored more chances but he's still making a big impact none the less. He's not 30 and the finished article because we've signed a lot of young players. Jackson is poor with his head in the area which does need improving but his link up play and one touch football is very good not to mention he's an absolute workhorse.
Year by year they will acclimatise to the rest of the group get better and stronger. I'm also a big fan of Broja he just needs to stay injury free. I don't see any point of Osimhen or Toney. Unless someone's leaving let's just stick with what we've got.
When Nkunku returns who for me is going to be our star player who will help us unlock low blocks we will be even better. We've had rotten luck with injuries. Three of our best players in Nkunku, Badiashile and Reece have been injured most of the season so now we should start to gain momentum.
My point is is that Osimhen and Toney weren't what they are now at 21. Jackson and Broja have big potential so let's just give them a chance to show it. Don't see any point in spending another 100 million and Osimhen is injury prone also.

Magic, I enjoyed your post and I partially agree with your sentiment.
The only thing I would add, is the club can’t stand still. It will continually need to upgrade/ trade but like you I can’t see many players, if any, joining us in January.

Agreed, Magic. Drogba was absolutely woeful in his first season and a half. Couldn't score for love or money, throwing himself to the ground at any opportunity. Got sent off in his big chance in a CL game as I remember. We had Crespo at that time for him to play backup to – not a bad player!

Chilly out for 8 weeks possibly longer now he's just as injury prone as Reece is. Difference is when James is fit he's world class but Chilly blows hot and cold.
Is chilly now a sellable asset? He's unreliable and we have Maatsen and Cucurella is looking better and Colwill is being used there. I like Chilwell from what I've seen he brings great dressing room vibes and seems a good character but do we really need him to stay just for that? I'd give Maatsen a run I think he'll be a big player in the future.

I hope he will be back earlier than reported. Nkunku is supposed to be ahead of schedule and looks like being in the squad about two weeks earlier than expected.

Chilwell when fit is the best wingback in the prem, and although he's out for 2 months he's been pretty reliable for the last few years. I'd definitely try recoup money for cucurella unless he can improve.

Positive result now let's build on it. Get Enzo deeper against Fulham, Palmer into the 10 with pace either side of him and Disasi and Colwill at centre back together. Respect Thiago but he holds the ball too long. Start Cucu at right back same back four as last night unless Chilwell is injured bring Maatsen in.

Magic, I would have zero problem with that team but I can’t see Chilly playing so I would pick IM.
I think Poch will play Silva and Colwill at LB again.

TomB I agree he probably will but I want silva used sparingly now. He slows play down way too much. Maatsen is very good. I believe he can take that position from Chilwell as he’s injured often too.

Not giving up on Chilwell and James but we must consider their alternatives. They can never be available consistently over a season. They are both good players but they disrupt the squad often and strong competitions should be made for them as we can't afford to go one step forward and take two backwards. I suggested we signed a player who's versatile enough to cover both wingbacks like jao cancelo, hakim etc but the club where engrossed with signing only young players. That could have added to the the age and experience balancing of the team.

We have a squad with potentially four LB’a and three RB’s. There is plenty of cover for both Chilly and James. We have a very strong squad.

Positive result tonight. Very impressed by Palmer and Mudryk. I hope they both start Monday alongside Sterling as a 3 behind Broja with Caicedo and Enzo deeper. Palmer was very creative.
Liked what I saw from Disasi and Colwill together. Colwill is so much better as you'd expect in the middle his passing is such a weapon. Silva needs to be used sparingly now. I'd even go as far as saying Cucurella improved ten fold second half and could start at right back Monday. But we all know Poch will move Disasi to right back to accommodate Silva.
Glad to see Maatsen start he did well there's such a player in there. Chilwell went off injured so hope to see him get a run of games at left back if Chilly is out for a bit I did read it was his hamstring.
Lastly how long is it going to be before the referees and linesmen get punished. Jackson's goal was nowhere near offside which should have definitely been 2-0 and later on the linesman put his flag up for Broja when he was in his own half. Absolute joke they get away with it every week.
Anyway up the chels onto Monday and a win hopefully.

Magic, I enjoyed your post and your assessment of last night’s officials is sot on. They were very poor.
I mentioned in my post match summary how good MC was last night and let’s hope he can carry that form on for the remainder of the season.

The poor officiating worked in our favour in the first half as Ogochukwu was lucky to stay on the pitch. Cucurella played like a man possessed in the second half and it was great to see a bit of passion from our team. Let's hope they keep it up.

I am happy to see what Jackson and Broja can do before we look at another striker because I’m not sure if Broja is good enough and we have AFCON to think about with Jackson too.
Hope Broja turns out well but if not I’d like to see us after Sesko at Leipzig instead of Openda.

Every poster is entitled to an opinion whether you agree or disagree but from reading the posts you seem to talk down to everyone as they don’t agree with you.
