Reported that arsenal will go to £68m for havertz, the fear that he hits his potential there is too much; like what spurs have with poch succeeding with us I imagine, really hope Madrid or Bayern come back in for him,

The lad has constantly been asked to play in position that in my opinion isn’t natural to him. He has done his best and got pelters for it. Also, he has never moaned about the situation.

I think he is a good pro and when asked to play as an AM or a No10 he will show his class.

I think he will do well at gooner land. Good luck to him unless he is playing against us.

70 million pounds is a master-class from boehly. I thought we wouldn't get 50.

He's been poor all over for us. He's been played wide, forward and behind the striker and has done nothing to impress in 3 years. Suprising signing for arsenal, he won't even start there.

A very highly talented player with a great attitude who, if played in his correct position, could of been a superstar for us and probably will be one day for Arsenal or Madrid or whoever sign him. Never complained being played out of position and will be a huge loss for us. A real shame to see such class leave but thanks for all you did for us Kai. and that interview with the F word after we won the Champions League will stick with me forever.

G8 well put assessment of KH a player who will surely display hois class consistently when played in right position under right managers and team set up.

Tom, G8, JBS I agree with you about Harvertz, it’s disappointing that he is going particularly to a PL club; it’s even more galling considering some of the players who won’t be moved on for various reasons. As Tom said if players like Mount and Havertz want go the club will not block them but replacements of suitable quality should be found. Although, some of the players we have been recently linked with are totally underwhelming. It hasn’t taken long for my early summer optimism to fade.

Y’all know how I feel about him. Team should be built around him.

I think we’re likely to see a mass exodus. Aubu, Lukaku, Ziyech, Puli, Mount, RLC, Kova, (possibly Gallagher), KK, Cucurella, Azpi, Mendy (possibly Kepa) (Chalobah)

Incoming would be 2 CM’s/ DM’s : Caicedo/ Barella/ Gavi/ Lavia/ Kone/ Rice
2 Forwards: L. Martinez/ Vlahovic/ (Nkuku) / Jackson
Not sure if Nkuku is included in the 2 or not
Returning loan players: Colwill, Hall, Cesare, Gusto, Santos, Maatsen

I think come the end of the window we’ll have a young squad but one with a lot of potential.

I will be fuming if havertz leaves because I think there is a great player there and was never allowed the luxury of playing behind a striker his true position.

Seems like we are all in agreement that Havertz is a special talent.

Gola, I don’t think it’s a question if Harvertz leaves but when. Unfortunately I fear you will spend a lot of time fuming over the next few weeks.

I would prefer Mount to stay rather than Havertz but I’m resigned to them both leaving.

Tom, I am pretty certain they will both go and probably before the end of the month for accounting/ FFP reasons. At the moment I am more worried about who we might bring in, hopefully just media rubbish but it has got me worried.

I think we had all wanted to retain all the best of our young talent while letting go most if not all the less impressive in squad who had been here since last summer. So letting go those bought for a huge sum last summer including Sterling (surely he should be sold before Mount or KH? ) and those among the older ones like Ziyech who never quite fitted in and wanted to go in Jan (though undoubtedly v talented) or Mendy who never repeated form of first season though some in the list undoubtedly talented etc. Plus to say goodbye but with all our thanks to Dave who simply lost the pace for EPL game at wingback.

The trouble is I guess that most of for instance the lot we bought last summer now worth v little compared to what we spent.

What I fear is the consequence in terms of likely success on pitch in near future of bringing in only relatively untested youngsters - perhaps even Jackson in this category even if he did so well at end of last season in La Liga? - if clearing out almost all those with EPL or top league/ s in Europe experience.

If we go this route, we surely have to expect that it could be a longish - two season? - wait until we reap the benefits of talented youth gelling and getting EPL hardened. THough Vision 2030 might mean just that, that we are rebuilding for even a few moreyears ahead!

Ideally we should be integrating youngsters in among seasoned top quality players who they can learn from and who would provide leadership. Trust though that the team put in place in January at Stamford Bridge to oversee trimming and rebuild know all this. It is pretty obvious. They do though have that tricky job of balancing books while clearing out huge numbers on bloated squad most of whom we paid far too much for while filling the positions GK, striker, DM we all know need strengthening.

I have already expressed my concerns for next season.

Why are people fuming if Havartz or Missing Mount wants to move on.

Firstly several coaches (including a world class coach in TT, allegedly) have coached Havertz and have failed to get a tune out of him. He walks around looking like he has lost his gold watch and found a penny that is now out of circulation.

As for Missing Mount, for SURE I saw him more on TV adverts last season than I did on the field of play.

Before it's said that not many players if any played well last season, SUREly if you are a professional, it should not matter what other players do, it's what you do what matters.

Lets hey players in who want to play for the club and Poch.

I wouldn't sell kai to any epl team especially arsenal. We will regret it competing Madrid and bayern only to deliver him arsenal. I have never been impressed with boely and Co at Chelsea. Their decision has been questionable and lacking tacts. I'm afraid we are slipping into the former giant like Liverpool before klop. Chelsea no longer look ambitious.

Our current owners may well have made mistakes but under no circumstances can be described as lacking ambition.

Bizzare comment.

19 Jun 2023 18:16:22
Tom, the owners showed ambition last season but as you rightly say they made mistakes. As for this season time will tell. A second season without CL football would knock us of the top table of European clubs and to that end we should push to get the best possible players in the positions that need strengthening. As I said I am a bit worried about some players we are linked with. For example the goalkeeper issue, Maingan or Onana would have been an upgrade but we are apparently not going for either . Paper talk linking us with Sanchez, Martinez and other obscure keepers is worrying; none are an upgrade on what we have. However, as I said time will tell.

19 Jun 2023 18:49:24
Jimbo, I’m sure our owners during their tenure will make mistakes in the same way Roman did.

I have been critical of some things they have done but I cannot accuse them of lacking ambition. If with fail to get in the top four next season I would like to think that would make them even more ambitious for success.

Arsenal will suit Harvertz perfectly, if they get Rice as well they will have a seriously strong team.

This is where Arteta will start to be challenged again with player power and egos.

He had a small squad last year that practically picked itself but now he will have to drop people, let's see how happy they will be.

Arsenal adding Rice and Havertz would make the close gap on City. though they don't have a Haaland!
