Body language very poor. Enzo, Neto look like they don't want to be there. Cole Palmer looking frustrated.

We are done being a top club, boys. Get used to it. Why spend billions on players and appoint s*** managers? The board are ruining this club, and it will not change until they sell up. Too much control.
17 Mar 2026 20:41:57
At half-time just take Caicedo, Palmer, Pedro, Enzo off and rest them for Everton game.

Agree, there was an argument for resting them the whole game. I don't blame the manager for this game. In the first leg, we were naive; in the second leg, the defensive players were just not good enough.
17 Mar 2026 20:25:09
Over already. Our defenders are not good enough. Chalaboh will never be good enough with out Colwill. We have no top level defenders, Hato and Sarr one day maybe but not yet. Lose the ball in the middle. Cucu way to far up the pitch.

Not sure you can blame the manager. Who else is he supposed to pick defensively?
The problem is defensively we are V poor.
17 Mar 2026 21:54:11
Blame the board, spend a billion, then use basic managers, Potter, Maresca and Rosenior. This project has gone on for long enough. We need world class.
17 Mar 2026 21:56:09
I get that, but he's just as poor. I feel sorry for him, so out his depth.
17 Mar 2026 22:02:49
He may be out of his depth, but way too early to tell. Need a good centre half and keeper more than a named manager.
18 Mar 2026 10:24:30
You lead from the top. In my opinion, that's why the board must go as well.

Ban on screening 3pm kickoff games on a Saturday I meant to type! Then yes the need to have multiple subscriptions to view all those screened on different channels.

So, apparently no Fofana (no loss after Saturday's game) or James and maybe also Gusto. Hato rumoured to playing alongside Chalaboa. Looks LR has given up on Badiashile.

Sarr the same. It's the position we must buy in.
17 Mar 2026 12:18:34
Apparently we are scrapping the central circle huddle. Stupid idea to begin with and even more embarrassing that it is axed so quickly. I was surprised to find out that we have a “cultural architect” whose idea it was. Why do we need one - we ain't got no history.

What on earth is that when it's at home?
I really couldn't care less about the so-called huddle or its location on a pitch. Although I did chuckle when the ref got trapped on Saturday.
So many teams have this huddle thing now.
17 Mar 2026 13:40:53
Tom, it's American bull****, strange for a country that has no culture.

Nice one, Jimbo!

MNF with Thiery Henry and Jamie Carragher analysing the goal we conceded against Newcastle is well worth a watch for anyone interested in coaching (or in this instance the lack of it) and how modern day players are now robotic to what the coach tells them to do and are simply not allowed to think for themselves. I have seen modern day football described as a game of chess played out by coaches with players, in this case, Reece James in particular, being totally out of position due to the opposition coach, Eddie Howe, doing something a little unexpected. Sadly, it paints a very sad picture and Mr Henry is very critical of Mr Rosenoir on the side, who was not even looking at the time and was shown in a very poor light. I post this as it tells a thousand words in one picture if you freeze the frame as the ball is passed from within Newcastle's half to Anthony Gordon. I'm rather saddened by the modern game where the passion and excitement seems to have been replaced by robotic, almost AI like coaching where players are so overloaded with information and have to stay in their little areas of the pitch and play exactly the same balls they are told to play, often just side to side, back to the keeper, side to side, repeat, repeat, repeat.
They have no personality, no mental strength, it is just all coached out of them. Then you have the cheating at set pieces, the wrestling to the floor, the zonal marking, the looking at the opposition player and not the ball, it is a bad watch and the star of the show is another robotic coach, this time the set piece coach. Then you have VAR which just makes the game even more terrible to watch and then on top of that I just got an email from Sky telling me my package was going up from 1st April to watch Sky Sports £2, TNT £3, HD £1 and something else connected £3. The whole package with broadband is now well over £100 a month. It is all getting too much and I might have a break from football now.

RPD, you make some very good points. Can't really argue against any of them.
17 Mar 2026 09:19:35
RPD, For me James just went to sleep.
I have posted a few times over the last week saying how boring the Premiership football is. I'm not sure what can be done, but in my humble opinion, something has to change if it wants to keep its current audience.
17 Mar 2026 09:46:23
More and more people I know are choosing a Saturday afternoon at the local non-league team. Good atmosphere, good natured banter, and a couple of pints with your mates whilst watching the game.
17 Mar 2026 10:03:21
I agree about how boring PL football has become. Surely, that's down to the coaches and SDs who appoint them.
17 Mar 2026 10:27:17
I guess the SDs appoint coaches to win games or stay in the Premiership, but I personally blame the coaches more. It's understandable, as so many are judged on staying in the Premiership. They almost have to be scared to lose, if that makes sense.
17 Mar 2026 11:46:53
SDs must know how prospective coaches set up their teams and the style of play. So I think they are equally culpable. Not all teams park the bus. Brentford, Bournemouth, and Sunderland are generally quite adventurous.
17 Mar 2026 14:15:14
It's wild to me how much you guys are made to pay to watch football on TV. I believe I paid $50 or so at the start of the season and get all PL, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A games live, as well as full replays available for a week or so. FA Cup games are also thrown in, and then the CL was an extra $30-50USD.
It's crazy how much is charged for an identical service that is locally produced. I understand that those paying for the "rights" have to make their money, but surely the league makes enough internationally to offer a full suite to those that live in England at a very affordable price.
17 Mar 2026 15:40:49
There still seems to be a sacred ban on any TV screening of EPL games at 3pm on a Sunday.
16 Mar 2026 22:31:28
All time performance loading tomorrow. 4-0, Enzo winner in 94th minute to send us through.

I think we will probably win tonight and maybe have a moment of false hope.
We gave the game away in the last 15mins, and, if I remember correctly, in the CWC final they had about 3 or 4 chances to score, but Sanchez pulled off some good saves.
I'm not sure why, but this group of players seems mentally weak to me and can't concentrate for a full game.
I hope I'm wrong and they perform a Chelsea miracle.
17 Mar 2026 07:47:20
I would love for you to be wrong, Tom, however, you won't be.
17 Mar 2026 08:23:36
I haven't any hope for tonight, mainly because I can't see us not conceding at least one goal, especially against a team like PSG, never mind Newcastle.
17 Mar 2026 09:21:21
Agree with the above. 4-2 was possibly retrievable. 5-2 isn't.
In the first leg, the last goal was, in my eyes, the most annoying of the lot. Chasing a goal in the last minute, too many defenders were upfield.
17 Mar 2026 09:54:49
I hope we give it a real go, but keep it nice and tight early on. Try and go in 1 nil up at half time, don't concede, nick another in the second half, and PSG might just get nervy, and we will have a chance. But, knowing us under Liam, we will concede the first goal and that will be that.
