Already on my third large post match JD and they are not working.
A performance that was tactically inept and lacking effort was mad ten times worse for me when Josh came on in the 92nd min for Gusto who was having yet another shocker.
For me this is borderline disrespectful and unforgivable management. Seriously angry!

82 mins gone and Welbeck is about to come on for Brighton and we all know he will score against us.
Some of our best players have been brought down to a performance level that beggars belief. The simple things done poorly and not winning a fair share of fifty fifties, no press and no running off the ball.
I'm sure the owners and SD's will dodge yet another bullet when what now looks a certainty of sacking yet another manager.
I am so angry with the club and its decision makers.
Hope you all have a good night. I'm off to open up yet another bottle of JD.

Daughter woke me up at 4:30 needing to use the bathroom. Quickly checked the score wondering if it would be worth watching the end of the game. Seems like it won't be worth watching another until the season ends.
Wondering how Tom pretzels himself into not blaming Liam.
21 Apr 2026 21:56:56
LR loves a 0-3 scoreline, surely, after this, the SDs have to go.
21 Apr 2026 22:05:59
This is when Roman is needed to arrive in his helicopter and remind the players that every single one of them can be sold for peanuts and replaced.
I'd like Terry to take over as interim, just to teach this lot what the badge means. I'd worry we'd get a bounce and he'd be given the job for next season though.
21 Apr 2026 22:06:17
Melbourne, I never wanted him as manager. I have also said I will give my opinion on him as a manager at the end of the season.
Like all our managers, I want them to be our manager for years because that means they are successful.
21 Apr 2026 22:16:57
What are you waiting for, Tom? You think even an FA Cup win makes this dross acceptable... Where have the standards gone??? Or will you continue to make excuses for the shambles of a club atm... Surely even you have run out of ways to make this all just part of some vision or process.
21 Apr 2026 22:17:25
I know, mate, and I admire your patience to pass an opinion. It's been quite obvious Liam wasn't the guy for a while now, and if he wasn't such an unlikable plank of a bloke, I'd also be hoping for his success. Unfortunately, he is the perfect manager to sum up just how far we've fallen.
21 Apr 2026 22:18:56
Tom, I'll give you my opinion of him as a manager now: he is f****** useless.
21 Apr 2026 22:25:53
I will stick with my usual assessment routine, thanks, although I have to say it's hard to imagine my opinion being hugely different from other fans.
21 Apr 2026 21:16:07
55 minutes in and it's the most pathetic embarrassing performance I've ever witnessed by anyone…. Don't let Rosenior on the coach home and he can take majority of the villion pound squad with him.
21 Apr 2026 21:25:04
Am with you, Kaz. This is truly awful, and if he isn't gone after this, I don't see how we even go forward.
21 Apr 2026 21:37:34
Surely to God, these players are trying to get him sacked.
21 Apr 2026 21:52:11
Unfortunately, Finchy-, the players are just as crap, bin the lot... An absolute masterclass from the SDs on how to burn through a billion.
21 Apr 2026 22:15:54
That's a good idea. Let's start all over again.
Address the problem. Ask questions and look at yourself. I'm talking about the decision makers at the club.
21 Apr 2026 22:19:58
Slightly disagree, kaz, our best 10 is decent and top 4-5 worthy. I say 10 as Sanchez isn't good enough.
But everything after the best 10 is dross.
My hope would be for the Bournemouth manager at the end of the season.
And, as someone else said, let's give Terry an interim job until the end of the season.
21 Apr 2026 22:28:30
If we make the change, Iraola would be my second choice, but a very reasonable solution.
21 Apr 2026 22:53:13
Thing is, Finchy, I think we're guilty of massively overrating some of our players, Enzo and Cucurella come to mind, even Palmer at times, although he gets a slight pass as he's been injured for most of the season.
James is the only player we have that I can confidently say is top, top level when fit! And that's a big problem.
22 Apr 2026 07:24:06
Lots of regular internationals in our squad, so I assume international managers are overrating our players.
I am with you, Finchey. I think we have lots of good players.
21 Apr 2026 20:53:30
Half time and I am seriously pi&&ed off.
I can't remember seeing such a disjointed 45 mins from any Chelsea side in many a long year.
I think he will take Fofana off and bring Garnacho on. The shape needs to be changed.
21 Apr 2026 22:03:36
That worked well, Tom.
21 Apr 2026 22:08:40
Bill, it was an obvious substitution but nothing is working for this manager.
21 Apr 2026 20:52:23
Laughable but that’s the norm now. Great to watch the brighten football though, totally destroying us all over. Liam looks like he normally does, totally puzzled. The man’s useless like most of the players. Is Delap even a footballer?
21 Apr 2026 20:40:34
36 mins gone and the only surprise is we are only 1-0 down.
Truly dreadful disjointed display, no press, no energy, no movement to receive the ball.
21 Apr 2026 20:55:54
Hopefully, Tom, the SD's come on as substitutes and rescue us.
21 Apr 2026 20:06:48
We really are shocking wow. Can we turn this around?
21 Apr 2026 19:17:08
No risks taken with Palmer and Joao Pedro, with the FA Cup Semi coming up, priorities have been set. Also has a feeling of acceptance that top five is gone, no matter what LR says in public.
21 Apr 2026 22:08:35
We could play Superman and Batman, and we still won't beat Leeds, probably lose 0-3.
18 Apr 2026 23:11:40
This is the Man United side that was being ridiculed under Amorim, they were absolutely awful, a punchline of a football club when he was sacked - they’re now ten points clear of us, and the joke is most definitely on us now.
Carrick might not be the most tactically astute coach in the world, he’s unlikely to be innovative on the training ground, but he has on very clear saving grace: he knows what it means to be at a club like United. Carrick understands the demands, the pressure of expectations and the attitude that is required to meet them. He’s lived it, breathed it and been successful in it before, not as a coach but as a player.
Rosenior never came close to a club like Chelsea, or United, as a player. He has no foundation for what the expectations really are, nor for the pressure those expectations create.
Now that he’s there for the first time, as a coach, he’s so far out of his depth that he just comes across as a rabbit in the headlights. He can’t inspire confidence, in fact he can’t inspire much at all.
Despite this, despite his poor performance, both tactically and inspirationally, the blame has to be laid with those who appointed him. What were they thinking? It’s been poor coaching appointment (and/or management) after poor coaching appointment. The writing has to be on the wall for Rosenior, you simply can’t go into next season with any expectation of success whilst he’s head coach. But, it has to be on the wall for those who appointed him too. You can’t let the same people be in charge of another head coach appointment. That would be absolute madness.
19 Apr 2026 06:23:50
J, I enjoyed your post and you raised some good points and questions.
Going forward, I just can't see the owners changing direction and although I think LR will be our manager for next season, if the owners do change anything it will probably be just a manager change.
19 Apr 2026 07:11:23
Good post, J.
19 Apr 2026 07:38:12
"I think we're behind Liam. Of course, it's a results business, but we think he can be successful long term."
Those were the words of Egbahli, before the Man Utd game. What would need to happen to results for them keeping Rosenior to make sense at this point? We're not talking about a team who can't get a win, we're currently talking about a team who can't score a goal!
It doesn't matter how successful they think he can be, very rarely is football anything but a 'now' sport.
Now is all that matters. If we don't win a significant amount of matches between now and the end of the season, along with the FA Cup, he'll be gone. They will have little to no choice.
19 Apr 2026 09:09:35
J, your theory about what should happen is understandable. Today I am not sure I have a logical argument to make against your assessment. Mine is just a hunch. The owners will not change direction, and that includes the manager.
19 Apr 2026 10:03:48
Unfortunately Tom, there's little room for logic at Chelsea Football Club right now.
19 Apr 2026 10:57:26
J,
I totally agree with everything you have said.
19 Apr 2026 11:34:28
J, my gut feeling or hunch has no logic.
