A rumour raheem sterling back in squad. shows that it was prev manager who did not rate him and booted him out but club welcome him back now.
1.) 16 Jan 2026 17:11:32
How much longer does RS have on his contract?
Will the club try and strengthen us at CB or anyhwere else on the pitch (eg GK; Striker) this window?
2.) 16 Jan 2026 20:17:14
JBS, good Sterling question. I can’t remember if it’s one and half or two and half years.
3.) 17 Jan 2026 10:53:34
Thanks Tom. will try and find out re RS contract. Non playing player at CFC bad for him and us but he didn't do well at Arsenal and it is hard to see how he could come back into CFC squad now and get much game time if any. And who woud back this?
4.) 17 Jan 2026 11:00:32
Sterling gad two years left on his contract in Sep[tember 2025 so presume it expires end of August 2027.
5.) 17 Jan 2026 11:56:34
JBS, thanks for the clarification. So only 18 months max to go. Of course we could extend his contract. ?.
6.) 17 Jan 2026 14:34:46
Tom. that’s good news, we only have to pay him £25 million in wages to the end of his contract ?.
7.) 17 Jan 2026 20:00:52
Better than it was three and a half years ago and who knows a club might still take part of his costs off our books.
8.) 18 Jan 2026 21:37:20
Tom, I don’t understand your logic: over his contract period he will receive £80 million in wages: how much do you seriously believe we will get from another club . Offer him 10 mill to**** off.
9.) 19 Jan 2026 12:13:44
My logic is, we have already paid three and half years of his wages and it’s likely that amount for account purposes has already been written off. Therefore we have a further eighteen months to pay as a maximum. That maximum (with luck) could be reduced by a sale, loan or negotiated release.

Perez add Maresca to short list for Real Madrid job. Hope not true.
1.) 16 Jan 2026 19:29:53
If true, good luck to him. I’m probably wrong but I think he is going to City.
2.) 16 Jan 2026 21:38:00
That's my yvought as well Tom.
3.) 17 Jan 2026 03:44:51
Would seem an odd choice. A club that gives power to the players wants a manager that likes to micromanage tactics.
4.) 17 Jan 2026 09:08:32
Totally agree Melbourne, that is why I brleive City is his destination, if not city then Juve.
16 Jan 2026 13:28:36
Marc Guehi to Man City for £40 million with Chelsea receicing 20%, another £8 million banked and a smart bit of biz by the club. These sell-ons do work.
1.) 16 Jan 2026 14:39:53
I’m only guessing because I haven’t seen the term and conditions of his contract but I would think we get 20% of the difference between what we sold him for and what Palace sell him for. Obviously I would be happy if it is £8m ish.
2.) 16 Jan 2026 15:17:07
I would be happier if we signed Guehi for ourselves.
3.) 16 Jan 2026 15:33:51
I wasn’t sure about him but he has impressed me more over the last year.
4.) 16 Jan 2026 16:19:37
I beleive you are correct Tom, it is the difference between what we sold him for and what he is being sold for now.
5.) 16 Jan 2026 16:24:11
Being reported it is 20% of the total fee Tom but only the bean counters should care about that. I'm more interested in whether Cole Palmer and Estevao can both start together tomorrow, now that will be good to see.
6.) 16 Jan 2026 16:48:29
City have made two smart signings that strengthern them with Semnyo and Guehi. Will we strengthen at all in this window?
7.) 16 Jan 2026 17:24:49
we could do with guehi at the moment tbh. or any decent cb tbh as opposed to the jokers we currently have playing there.
8.) 16 Jan 2026 18:37:17
My god it really is tiresome the posters who post positive things ONLY to have a knock at posters who don't agree with the clubs direction. Be positive if you like but doing it to antagonise people is truly pathetic.
9.) 16 Jan 2026 19:32:18
Standard, I assume you agree the reverse should also be true.
10.) 16 Jan 2026 21:05:55
JBS, agree City have made two smart signings who are Premier League proven. They are a club with ambition to win trophies and, of course, they can attract players because of that and Pep as manager.
11.) 16 Jan 2026 21:41:09
I'm hopeful that all posters will agree with you Tom.
12.) 17 Jan 2026 09:24:05
Absolutely tom.
14 Jan 2026 18:29:48
So it turns out the club not only made a handsome return on both Conor G and J Felix but a nice little sell on bonus as well today. Maybe they know more about this than some would have you think?.
1.) 14 Jan 2026 19:47:45
great all of them combined may almost cover the cost of mudryk. maybe they don't know as much as you think!
2.) 14 Jan 2026 21:01:31
Some see positives, some see negatives.
Mudryk is still our player, I wonder if he will have a future value? Anyway win some lose some!
3.) 15 Jan 2026 15:29:55
I always thought Conor G a v good EPL style player in mould of Villa's John McGinn say - someone who has the physical strength and energy for the toughest league in the world, works immensely hard all over the pitch without getting many injuries (Lavia's curse poor lad), tackles hard, and gains plenty of turnovers, creates space for the technically more gifted - notably it was Palmer - to shine, but also has goals in him himself.
He also happened to be a lifelong CFC fan. I am sorry that he is now joining Spurs of all teams!
4.) 15 Jan 2026 20:54:04
Who is this “Conor G” who has joined the spuds? ??.
11 Jan 2026 18:48:54
Not really worked out for Money Mount has it. Not really worked out for Conor G either. Atl. Madrid trying to off load him. Same for Tammy in Turkey. club got over £120 million for them 3. good biz.
1.) 11 Jan 2026 19:39:35
True and in some ways sad given they were CFC grown and had been pretty successful with us.
2.) 11 Jan 2026 20:16:47
JBS, I always said that Mount was overrated: we did well to sell him when we did for a good fee.
3.) 11 Jan 2026 21:00:02
Looking backwards serves little purpose and just maybe their careers would have been different if they hadn’t left CFC. Strangely two the three mentioned both had terrible injury issues.
4.) 11 Jan 2026 22:34:54
Tom, it isn’t looking backwards in my case, I said it at the time as I did about Sterling.
5.) 12 Jan 2026 04:02:29
I actually meant none of the three mentioned play for us anymore.
I think Mount was named player of the season twice, so was hardly seen by the majority as a poor performer for us.
If I don’t rate a player I personally want to be proved wrong. Over the years I freely admit to be wrong about a lot of players.

You think Jim Ratcliffe would do better? he bid? I agree politics and sport not a good mix though. Lose your passion, get a new woman and get your passion back my uncle used to say.
10 Jan 2026 10:47:41
If it fits an "agenda" and that is what you believe then fine.
08 Jan 2026 18:02:18
You may well be right about Maresca being a brilliant and elite manager but what do you base that on Tusole? please enlighten me?
