Looks like j pedro signing done. just no idea what the strategy is here unless jackson is leaving? he's not better thsn jackson or delap . dodgy injury record and discipline issues. another baffling signing at a time where we shouldve been looking to improve the team.

1.) 29 Jun 2025 19:49:34
I haven’t seen that confirmed but I see him as a replacement for Nkunku not Jackson. Time will tell.

2.) 29 Jun 2025 20:30:39
I guess it all depends on how Jackson sees it Tom.

3.) 29 Jun 2025 20:57:07
Im guessing hel replace both felix and NKunku in the squad and will probably rotate with gittens off the left >I think he will surprise any fan whos scratching his head.

4.) 29 Jun 2025 21:03:06
Bill, as far as I’m concerned if a player isn’t prepared to fight for his place then he can leave anytime he likes.

As I’ve said in a previous post I will wait and see him play in Chelsea Blue before I make my judgement.

I agree Poch, I think he is a replacement for Nkunku and Felix I think will end up at Benfica on loan.

5.) 30 Jun 2025 09:06:07
Totally agree Tom, if a player is frightened of competition then let him go.

There is talk about Pedro's injury record. However, I seem to remember Neto had the same issue and that turned out just fine for us.

6.) 03 Jul 2025 19:35:40
He’s just another option and a bit of a different one. Sometimes you’ll want Delap’s strength and ball carrying, others you’ll want Jackson’s ability both to link and to stretch play, then you might want Pedro dropping in and playing the ball through. It’s all about options for different problems.

7.) 05 Jul 2025 22:09:27
FD77, good description of the different options that we need.

Read that Vallecano now want 40million+ for their left back - a player who's 28 and has spent most of his career in second division Spanish football - we should've ended interest the moment they changed price, no doubt they've seen our mug SDs turn up and thought they can make a nice raise.

Oh well, onto the next target hopefully.

kazblue1

1.) 16 Jul 2026 16:32:09
Why do you always use nasty words on this page, Kazblue? Yesterday, you were calling Tom things, and now you are calling Chelsea FC employees "Mugs". Why don't you make your points without always being rude to fellow human beings.

2.) 16 Jul 2026 17:11:08
I highly doubt they want 40m. We initially believed 15m was an acceptable amount, but they subsequently raised it to 25m, I think. We shall see if we can come to an agreement, but if not, then we move onto other targets.

3.) 16 Jul 2026 17:12:55
Dont think theres anything wrong with calling the SDs mugs - theyve been terrible for us so far and taken no responsibility for failures.

Sorry if that upsets you, and as for Tom - he gives plenty of comments and barbs back, wont hear me complain about it.

4.) 16 Jul 2026 17:30:23
I haven't got a clue who has taken responsibility for our failings. I'm sure a review has taken place, and I would like to think that all the decision-makers have acknowledged the mistakes and learned some lessons.

As I've said before, the SDs seem to be a common target for criticism at most clubs.

5.) 16 Jul 2026 17:36:09
My issue would be Tom - who is reviewing who? - It gives the vibe of students marking their own homework.

6.) 16 Jul 2026 17:36:11
Fuser, according to some pundits, the player is a manager's choice. So, my guess is some fans will refer back to the GX attempted signing and accuse the club of "penny punching." The club can't win.

I assume the club and the manager will have discussed a valuation for the player and will not exceed that valuation.

7.) 16 Jul 2026 17:45:21
As I always say, I am only guessing, but the club did confirm a review process takes place at the end of each season.

If your view is that review isn't worth it, I would suggest the proof will be in the managers' and players' performance next season. I can wait to see if any signings and the manager have been a good investment.

8.) 16 Jul 2026 18:32:35
Did the sporting directors get palmer, enzo, caicedo, pedro, estevao, cucu wrong.
The same as everything you win some you lose some you can't get everyone right or keep every fan happy.

They may believe that some like Santos are a success as well with that fact they made money on them.

Kazblue your post are becoming a drain, the season hasn't even kicked off and its getting me to the point I don't want to read posts in here.

9.) 16 Jul 2026 19:02:31
Finchy, please don't be put off posting. This site needs the input of fans who give reasons for their opinions.

10.) 16 Jul 2026 20:08:17
Finchey, the players you mentioned were good signings, but we paid top dollar for them - there is nothing wrong with that; it shows ambition. However, we have paid significant fees over the last few seasons for players who are not good enough.

As for the "review", who is reviewing who? I doubt anything will come of it, or we will hear anymore about it.
Tom, you are right, please continue to post; it is important that we have a lively and busy site. We have lost several regular posters recently.

11.) 16 Jul 2026 20:56:32
Finchy, that's 6 players - good players and good signings. 1 has left, 1's agent is discussing him leaving and sounding out a move (hope he stays).

And then, as Jimbo says, there's countless others that could be mentioned, but I guess we must toe the party line, bury our heads in the sand and shout All hail Vision 2030.

12.) 16 Jul 2026 20:35:13
Jimbo, I am not privy to who reviews who but I would assume that the senior person's review the junior persons. If I remember correctly Ed01 posted the SD structure and the two individuals with responsibility for that function.
I also assume that the owners reviewed those two senior peoples performance.

My big issue is our owner's inability to communicate at a basic level with the fans. The FAB is in my opinion, not fit for purpose

I guess any club pays the transfer fee the market and selling club dictate. I may well end being proved wrong but my "guess" is, if we sold every player these owners have bought tomorrow we might well show a profit. Obviously such a sale isn't going to happen and anyway, all fans have different valuations for every player and it's the market that dictates the price not us fans.

13.) 16 Jul 2026 23:05:02
Kazblue, try to be nice and less hostile to your fellow human beings. Finchy, we have a good Chelsea family on here but as Jimbo has mentioned a few regulars have drifted away possibly caused by Kazblue who seems intent on causing problems. It will be a shame if he and the likes of him succeed

14.) 17 Jul 2026 06:59:44
The new season is soon upon us, and new players will come in and players will depart, that is the way of life with all football clubs.

The hope is the new ones coming in are better than those leaving.

We also have a new manager in place, with less games to be played this season, therefore he will have plenty of time to get his tactical views over to the players.

We can't and must not have a situation again where we appoint someone like LR, who killed our season stone dead, and I have to say, whoever made that decision alone should have been sacked at the so called review.

15.) 17 Jul 2026 08:58:50
Bill, as always I am only guessing, I assume there was more than one person involved in the appointment of LR.

Also, my guess that same group of decision makers were involved in choosing EM. For large portions of that appointment my guess is they were reasonably happy with our progress under his management.

I would like to think that they looked at the Alonso appointment differently and by that I mean as less of experiment, if that makes sense?

I would think if Alonso doesn't work out, the owners would look at the whole structure.

Of course I hope Alonso works out. If it does, I'm sure they will all be patting themselves on the back.

16.) 17 Jul 2026 12:28:22
It will be interesting what the squad will look like when the window closes.

24 Apr 2026 12:30:00
Surely at this point someone at the club realises we need a manager with experience at least. The squad is very immature and inexperienced and it shows. I was ripping into the squad the other day and someone on here corrected me and said 'our starting 10 is decent'.

1.8billion spent to have a 'decent' starting 10 and the bench of a top end championship side. There will be studies on how successfully we have wasted money. It's beyond comprehension.

We need to get rid of 4 of the SDs, have 1 man in place working with the manager in partnership and the manager has to have experience.

Sick to death of the massive lack of experience in the squad and backroom staff. And before Tom starts, our squad lacks experience in winning - the two players that have it, Enzo + Cucu, seem to have had enough. Good riddance to Enzo; horrible bloke and decent but overrated and overpriced player.

Have to fix the problem of inexperience that's throughout the whole club from our billionaire businessmen owners who seem to think they know what theyre doing cos they did well on hedge fund trades to our kinetic academy run junior set up- whole club is full of nepotism and mediocrity.

kazblue1

1.) 24 Apr 2026 13:41:19
I would sell Jorgensen, Gusto, Guiu, Tosin and Badiashile. I would loan out Delap and maybe Garnacho.

I think Enzo and Palmer will be sold.

That's my bit of football manager nonsense.

I have no idea if the owners will carry on with the current BP, although there have been hints of a slight change of direction.

2.) 24 Apr 2026 13:47:55
It was me Kaz.
Are you agreeing our starting ten is good or not? I have a hard time understanding some of your posts, as they always come across as rants. No disrespect meant by that.

3.) 24 Apr 2026 14:18:50
I agree our starting 10 is decent and could go on to be good. A couple of top level players in there, but we also have Sanchez as our number 1, and a couple of injury-prone players, and the drop off is enormous, which is my issue - 1.86 billion spent, we should have better options than:
Sanchez in net,
whatever on earth our CB situation is - could easily sell all of them other than Colwill
Garnacho or Gittens on the left
Delap as a back up striker.

4.) 24 Apr 2026 15:24:01
I would not get rid of Palmer, Tom.

EF might also stay, depending on who the new coach is.

Still leaves plenty to let go.

5.) 24 Apr 2026 15:57:16
Kaz thanks for the reply. Makes more sense to me now.
I am with you that Sanchez is garbage. Although his shot stopping at times is good. Beyond awful with the ball at his feet.

I would keep Colwill, Fofana, Trevor.
BB and Tosin can go but with Palmer and Tosin being best mates, would that cause Palmer to actually want to go.

Cucu, Reece, Hato, Josh keep, but Gusto can go.

Caicedo, Enzo, Lavia keep, unsure on Santos, sometimes looks very useful.

Palmer, Pedro, Estevao, Gittens, Mudryk keep (yes I know Mudryk! But for some reason I still have hope for him). Kick out Garnacho and Neto (if he actually crossed the ball first time instead of twisting and turning 50 times he might actually create more), Delap and Guiu.

The other young lads I would loan out.

6.) 24 Apr 2026 16:01:38
I didn't say "I" would sell Palmer, but I think the club will sell him and EF.

7.) 24 Apr 2026 16:31:40
Hopefully you are wrong, Tom.

23 Apr 2026 14:53:58
And so it begins. Club insiders and sources releasing info on Liam and the club etc.

The thing I hate most about this useless ownership is their use of the press and specific client journalists to try and spin stories after each disaster they cause.

Embarrassing. Completely dismayed by the state of the club and the bleakness going forward. Someone wake me up when the SDs are all gone!

kazblue1

1.) 23 Apr 2026 15:34:02
I would think most clubs have favoured journalists or general media outlets.

2.) 23 Apr 2026 15:42:30
Not the way the jokers at Chelsea have... Tom, you don't need to defend the clowns running the show every time.

3.) 23 Apr 2026 16:11:05
Kazblue, and obviously the reverse is true. For the record, I'm just stating a "probable" fact. I'm "not" defending our owners or any other club's owners.

4.) 23 Apr 2026 17:22:56
Not reallt interetedbin other clubs, Tom.
Im interested in our s***show of a club atm and the focus on pushing narratives instead of focusing on actual performance top to bottom.

5.) 23 Apr 2026 17:30:52
It's entirely your prerogative to describe the club, the owners and the SD's, anyway you see fit. Crack on!!

6.) 23 Apr 2026 18:47:05
Most supporters, Chelsea pundits, sports journalists, ex-players and Gladys all agree that the problem with Chelsea is at the top, which is amply identified by an article in The Times today headlined: "When will five stooges carry the can for this mess". I hope the answer is soon.

7.) 23 Apr 2026 18:56:37
Well, if it's true that two are about to leave, that's 40% of some people's prayers answered.

If changes are to happen, I guess it will be after any so-called review, and probably after a new manager is appointed.

8.) 23 Apr 2026 19:08:58
Tom, if there is to be any changes in the structure regarding SDs, it should be made before we appoint a new coach.

9.) 23 Apr 2026 19:15:00
I agree it should, but in my opinion, it won’t, and even if we lose two of the current five SD’s, my guess is they will be replaced in number.

22 Apr 2026 17:42:13
So Rosenior is gone - correct decision, ultimately just nowhere near ready for the job and tbf don't think he wanted it - blew up his learning with Strasbourg and parachuted him into chaos - I do feel for him, aside from the weird LinkedIn lingo, interviews seemed to be a decent bloke and do hope he recovers to have a decent career.

Onwards we go… Wonder what further disaster the SDs have lined up for us… vision 2030 on track (if the vision was to fold the club).

kazblue1

1.) 22 Apr 2026 18:26:55
Well said Kazblue.

19 Apr 2026 09:08:14
Well… have waited and waited for things to improve and the project to come to life…. Looks like we’ll be waiting a while longer.

LR might be the worst manager to ever manage in the prem but the bigger issue is who on earth decided he was the right man for the job? Anyone know who's call ☎️ it was? One of our 5 sporting directors maybe? Maybe all of them? - We really are on the edge of disaster as a club rn.

tbh wouldn't mind seeing Cole back on the right, and Rodgers, Caicedo and Enzo together in the midfield would be interesting. Only thing then, potentially, would be pace in the team - maybe need to look at a quick left winger. Not sure if this Palestra is quick, but whoever plays left back hopefully will be quick.

Trust the vision, Bill. The Sds have delivered so far. We're stacked top to bottom with future leaders and stars. We just have to wait 5 years to see if any of the good ones can be bothered staying.

It makes us rudderless when we splash cash on the likes of Mudryk, Gittens, Garnacho, Datro, Fofana, Lavia and 10s of others, but try and lowball and insult when it comes to a prem proven leader. That is exactly what we could do with.
