Big excited for the final match i think it will tell whether the club is back along the top clubs or if the club had a good schedule into the final with ease of matches.

RajkumarSingh7

1.) 10 Jul 2025 06:58:33
I have only focused on who we have played to rea h the final. I assume that the teams we played in the knockout stages got there because they had beaten so called good teams.

The final will be a good test for our players and manager. I would think we must be big outsiders but I would also like to think we will make them work hard. I noticed when RM went to a 433 in the second half last night it became more of a contest.

2.) 10 Jul 2025 10:57:10
We certainly had the better hald of the draw and possibly benfited from Al-Hilal upset in deservedly beating City of course.

PSG will be strong favourites of course on Sunday given manner of demolition of Real Madrid and many other teams in recent months including pretty close contests versus all 4 English entrants in Champions League. But fact that Villa and City won their home legs, and Liverpool the away leg plus close contests that PSG won v Arsenal suggests they have some vulnerabilities - as did semi--final v Barcelona - not least in defense, like us, though their GK in an elite league above ours I'd think.

COYB!

3.) 10 Jul 2025 11:27:49
I know this will be just me but I’m not a fan of there keeper.

4.) 10 Jul 2025 12:08:20
Tom, I ‘m not a fan of ours. The prospect of Sanchez trying to play the ball out with the PSG forwards pressing will give me nightmares.

5.) 10 Jul 2025 13:14:20
Agreed Jimbo, that is my worry as well.

Also our possession football with their aggressive press is a worry.

We need to get in behind them and put them on the back foot.

6.) 10 Jul 2025 13:22:51
Jimbo, you don’t say!

7.) 10 Jul 2025 16:42:06
Bill, there back line is ridiculously quick. I think Neto will be the key player for us. Also, our CF needs a good first touch and be willing to come short. I think for that reason he will start with Pedro.

8.) 10 Jul 2025 16:58:21
Tom, yes I do say and am willing to say.

9.) 10 Jul 2025 17:35:23
Well, I’m hoping he has a good game and can maintain the form he showed towards the end of last season but go no credit for from some people. It would be lovely if, in a positive way, he could put the lurkers back in there box for just a few games.

10.) 11 Jul 2025 08:17:54
Tom. I too hope he has a good game but he still isn’t good enough if we are serious about challenging for trophies; it’s an area we must strengthen.

11.) 11 Jul 2025 08:55:34
We all think that by that has nothing to do with criticism and praise being given when it’s due.

04 Jul 2025 17:25:18
Why we get fined.

RajkumarSingh7

1.) 04 Jul 2025 19:09:23
Breaching football earning rules and squad cost rules. Total fines £78.5 million but £51 million of it suspended for 4 years.

2.) 05 Jul 2025 15:15:17
We have not be fined £78 million that's if we breach the rules again in 4 years.
So it's not suspended. Why do you constantly have to be dramatic.

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly what suspended means.}

3.) 05 Jul 2025 18:19:50
"Suspended" put on hold! Which means they have not been fined £78 million so my point stands why be so dramatic and put them fines when it's actually in the 20's just to be dramatic.

{Ed001's Note - your point doesn't stand. The person being dramatic is you. Give it up.}

04 Jul 2025 10:43:13
Any1 seen the transfer market post online talk about player sales for the club in the transfer window. It looks like the club will be making a big loss on many of the players it isn't good view to see.

RajkumarSingh7

1.) 04 Jul 2025 11:25:44
Without doubt there could be a potential loss on the sale of some players but a profit on others. My guess is that loans in some cases would be more prudent.

2.) 04 Jul 2025 13:14:30
I think in a number of cases Tom, a loan will be the only option.

Clubs will know we need to offload players surplus to requirements.

3.) 04 Jul 2025 15:48:27
Sorry I just worry much because it seems no one wants the clubs players players like chukumecka sterling nkunku chilwel I read that sterling still 2 year on contract and best case of play is we give him loan for 20% coverage of wages bomb squad wasgt good and unhealthy for that reason and we have Felix as well no one wants the payers it seems and big losses for the club.

4.) 04 Jul 2025 16:20:12
You need to calm yourself and relax mate, the club will do what it needs to do and remember that most of what you read is cheap click bait from journo's trying to capture headlines.

5.) 04 Jul 2025 17:14:31
Raj are you really Standard? ?

Chuka is a player I would prefer us to loan as I still think he has a touch of class.

I passed on a story about Sterling. He apparently is happy just to see out his contract playing with the kids if necessary. Of course he is entitled to do that.

I think Felix will go to Benfica on loan.

6.) 04 Jul 2025 19:04:30
Hi tom no but I just worry for what if we don't sell the players we just saw we got fine for not making enough money for eufa so I am concerned I will love to be excited but I will wait to see first.

7.) 04 Jul 2025 19:17:30
As for Sterling I think he will sit out his contract no club will pay anywhere near his wages. In his position I would probably do the same, it’s not his fault we signed him on a huge salary. The first of many poor decisions.

8.) 04 Jul 2025 20:34:23
I think the happy hammers will take Sterling as Potter is a fan but I would vies they will only pay about 30% of his wages.

I have looked at the UEFA fine and I’m confused (not for the first time) as it also talks about player signings.

Anyway, as we have been found guilty then just except the punishment and move on.

I will delay my normal criticism of the owners in such situations until I fully understand the reasons why we have been fined.

9.) 04 Jul 2025 20:45:20
I enjoy all posts on here including yours Jimbo but in all your years of posting, both under Roman and now the new owners have you ever been happy with anything related to the club?

10.) 04 Jul 2025 21:46:56
Tom, we have breached 2 rules football earning relating to the hotel and women’s team sale and squad costs rules relating to the percentage of income you can spend on transfers, wages, agents fees etc. We didn’t fight it, it was a settlement. Go onto We ain’t go no history for a succinct explanation of the of the issue. The major fine is suspended in part subject to conditions. Therefore important that we are successful and secure a top class sponsorship deal ( all gone quiet on that front) .

11.) 04 Jul 2025 22:15:00
When you break the rules you deserve the punishment.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Jimbo. The reasons for the fines I understand, it’s the mention of player restriction for UEFA competitions that isn’t clear to me. As I read it, if we balance our transfer books, then we are ok is how I read it.

12.) 04 Jul 2025 22:15:04
Greenaway, I have been very happy with the club over decades including well before the RA era. I have nothing, per se, against our owners. I thought at the time of the sale and still do now that they were the best option. However, I do question the people they have appointed in senior positions and their competence also some of the strategies regarding PSR, which have clearly come unstuck with UEFA, hence the sanctions which have just been announced. I am still unsure what exactly the plan is for the club on the field. The player trading and constant in and outs does not give me confidence for regaining our status as an elite club.

13.) 05 Jul 2025 09:53:29
Tom. I think you are right, we can’t go into a negative transfer balance.

14.) 05 Jul 2025 13:42:19
Thanks Jimbo for taking the time to explain your views.

29 Jun 2025 20:31:56
Hi ed001 i am begginning to be worried with all of the players of the club the club now has signed jacket pedro means we have madueke mudrik neto George pedro delap Jackson nkunku sterling Felix now I no we need players but what happens to the club if we don't sell nkunku Felix sterling or what if no one wants them sterling is payed 350000 for the next two seasons very worried do you think the idea of the club is a good one.

RajkumarSingh7

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on if they can offload them or not. They might be buying knowing there are already deals lined up for outs. On the face of it though, there would be problems if the club cannot offload some of the excess players. It would impact badly in terms of PSR and probably lead to the sale of players from the academy that they would otherwise choose to keep.}

1.) 29 Jun 2025 21:05:20
I still we have about 15 players who will be sold or loaned. Fingers crossed they have offers for some of them already.

2.) 29 Jun 2025 21:36:48
I don't understand the Pedro purchase. presumably quite a few outs and some may be better than him? His last seasons stats not v impressive but perhaps some have seen more in him than I have to date.

3.) 29 Jun 2025 21:52:06
But if we've singed him can oy trust he is just what we need and brilliant.

4.) 30 Jun 2025 07:13:49
Think the Pedro signing means Jackson and Madueke Nkunku will be sold and Mudryk released, from what little I have seen he looks a good buy but as always time will tell.

5.) 30 Jun 2025 07:48:38
Jackson may ask to leave but I don’t think the club would want to sell him.

I do think that Noni and Nkunku will be leaving along with other sales and probably quite a few loans.

The Mudryk situation is interesting as I guess the club can’t do anything until the “process” is completed.

6.) 30 Jun 2025 09:09:01
Tom

Our club will not keep a player if he wants to leave regardless if they want him to stay.

27 Jun 2025 15:39:47
No I don't kno why all u think that we are going to have a big sale summer i think we go back again with the same player because we haven't seen reports at any saying that other clubs want the players at our club but that's OK because we have stronger side than last with improvement all around other than goalkeeper but sanchez is very good.

RajkumarSingh7

1.) 27 Jun 2025 17:16:00
I believe the second transfer window officially opens next Tuesday. My guess is we then have about two months to buy and sell players. Plenty of time!

I may well be wrong but I think that the 1st July also signals the start of a new financial/ PSR term.

2.) 27 Jun 2025 17:56:46
The transfer window re-opened on the 16th June but as Tom said won’t be much action until end of PSR financial year on 30th June. Mind you Liverpool haven’t been hanging around.

3.) 27 Jun 2025 18:41:33
Jimbo

Liverpool did not but anybody apart from Chiesa last during the last two windows.

4.) 27 Jun 2025 18:58:34
Jimbo, thanks for the clarification. I agree I can’t see much happening until the new financial/ PSR term. My guess would be that a lot are already agreed and just waiting for that date.

As I’ve said many times, the scousers have been busy and for me they have signed a future star in Wirtz.

5.) 27 Jun 2025 20:00:45
Tom, yes I believe Wirtz is a great signing. As to PSR I have read many different reports that we have the highest PSR ceiling probably as a result of our jiggers pokery about the hotel and women’s team sale: who cares. We have made some dosh in the Club World Cup and obviously will do in the Champions League. Now we need a top sponsorship deal after all this faffing around . I just hope we don’t waste the money on misfits. Apparently, the Gittens’s deal is almost done, I would like another top class CB and goalkeeper. I would also like to see a lot of outgoings.

6.) 27 Jun 2025 21:17:23
I assume that the Gittens deal will get done over the next few days.

I have said for ages that about 15 players could be leaving sold or loaned in this window. I still think that will be about the right number.

7.) 28 Jun 2025 08:06:41
Tom

We are going to need a large squad bearing in mind we are in the CL and will reach both domestic cup finals.
Add to that, internationals, injuries and suspensions.

8.) 28 Jun 2025 08:11:00
Tom

I'm not sure on Wirtz.

Don't forget, we thought we had bought superstars in Werner and Harvertz and look how they both turned out.

9.) 28 Jun 2025 08:28:22
Bill, I think the manager would like a first team squad of about 25 players plus the ability to call upon some talented academy player for the domestic cups.

We have loan players who need to find clubs as well as some first team squad players who would prefer to be playing at clubs with more playing time.

10.) 28 Jun 2025 09:54:21
Presumably number and position of additions would depend on outgoings and at least some sales at decent price. Wonder if either Madueke or Jackson will be sold?

If Jackson is, could we go for Gyokeres?!

The Garnacho rumours remain.

11.) 28 Jun 2025 19:11:40
JBS, every time I hear about Garnacho I want to stick my fingers in my ears and go” Nah, Nah Nah…”
Tom
You are only allowed to register a maximum of 25 players in the PL, players under 21 do not count. So Maresca has got his wish.

12.) 28 Jun 2025 22:00:39
Jimbo, I think that’s what I said.

I kno it was ed1 who said long contracts can be a problem after the time because the incentivisation is gone and the player can do the 'down tool' because he's going to be payed by the club any way so it might be that and mudrik has 7 year as well.

Mydrick is serving suspension already no I don't know if it was good buy because we will not get back the 80 millions we buyed the player for.

Ok tomb that is fair yes to be happy but yes I agree with ed1 the club had a champion league winning squad and it is bad that we are now 5th and look kilometres away from the cream of the top Liverpool and man city and arsenal.

We must be truful and admit we are a disaster now now any more but from champions league win to 5th when spending the most is a bad bad return and I must say I was very excited to finish the season and we are going well now but ed1 is true we have spent 1.5 billion to be exactly below what we were beforehand and a big amount of players now ni onw wants them

And tomb very disrespectful to loverpool who are the best running football club we must give credit there

I have bad writing so I am sorry I must be misunderstand. I am happy we have very happy chelsea fans but I don't think we can say its been good but we now are at a spot where we are good.
