I can see why A. Madrid binned off Conor G to Spurs. He is a headless chicken and we did so well to sell him for 40 million. As for Spurs, big club? Please, do me a favour.
They are a tiny club in a relegation battle with a shiny stadium that will likely bancrupt them. Want a big shiny stadium? Sometimes you need to appreciate what you have.

Greenaway
Some players suit certain clubs over others. Tell me one player that is currently playing well for Spurs.
I said in an earlier post. Spurs will not go down; it will be Leeds.
11 Mar 2026 12:26:17
He didn't last long at A. Madrid, Bill.
11 Mar 2026 13:11:28
He didn't, Greenaway, but he played well for us and Palace.
11 Mar 2026 13:24:33
Yes, Bill, I remember you were a big fan of him, but for me, I thought he ran around a lot and was not at the level of Moises and Enzo, so I was pleased we moved him on.
11 Mar 2026 15:02:21
True, Greenaway, but to replace him, we had to spend over £100mil on both.
11 Mar 2026 15:15:41
Gallagher has gone backwards, of our recent big academy sales.
Gallagher, Mount, Tammy, Loftus Cheek have gone backwards.
Tomori has stayed roughly the same.
Would say Hall, Livramento and Guehi have improved.
Would say we are quite well stocked at FB James, Cucu, etc., so I have probably missed someone, but the only one I would have back to get into the 1st eleven is Guehi, never going to happen. Thoughts?
11 Mar 2026 16:01:31
Totally agree with that, seymns2. Conor wasn't much good in the first place, and certainly needed upgrading, but has really gone downhill, proving it was the correct decision by the club. As you rightly say, Mount, Tammy and Ruben have also gone backwards, whilst Hall, Livramento and Guehi have improved.
I think the one I would have kept would have been Livramento, as he would be an upgrade on Gusto, but would he dislodge Reece James? I think we tried to re-sign Guehi, but he wanted to move up north for some reason.
11 Mar 2026 18:28:58
Being honest, anybody who left our club, I don't want back.

Apparently Chelsea have postponed Geovany Quenda's return to Sporting CP following his recent surgery.
Recent reports suggested that Quenda would soon head back to Sporting, but that plan has now been slightly delayed. Chelsea's medical team have decided to keep Quenda at Cobham a little longer and place him on a tailored training programme designed to help him rebuild his muscle strength over the next two weeks.
A quote from LR. When Mike Penders came, we realised very, very quickly that he's an outstanding operator in possession and that enables you to have an extra man in terms of your passing angles. He can play very very high and act as a sweeper, he is an outstanding talent. Almost certainly will start next season as our number 1.
Just a little update on 2 of our 3 incoming players for next season. I couldn't find much on Emmanuel Emegha but it does seem he will likely replace Marc Guiu who may go the other way.
The only rumours I could find were that the club were prioritising Murillo of Nottingham Forest as a CB and possibly looking at cover for Enzo Fernandez as he is deemed so important to the way LR likes to play that a back up was needed to allow him to rest in what will be another long season following the world cup. The club also have no intention of selling any of its top players.
Oh, for the days of our much loved and much missed ED02.

RPD, thanks mate.
09 Mar 2026 13:38:38
ED01, what are your thoughts on the centre circle huddle Liam has introduced in the last few games? it seems a bit childish and naive to me.
{Ed001's Note - I have been a bit busy here mate and haven't seen it to be honest. Been trying to get my parents a flight home, so basically stuck on the phone non-stop.}

Good luck Ed001. am sure all on here very much hope you can get your parents safely and soon on that flight home.
{Ed001's Note - thank you so much mate.}
09 Mar 2026 17:09:01
It is a difficult time, Trish, for everyone in the UAE. It might be quicker to drive your parents from Dubai to Oman and get a flight from there. Best wishes, mate.
{Ed001's Note - I don't drive and it is not that simple right now to just go from here to there.}
09 Mar 2026 19:58:45
Good luck, mate!
{Ed001's Note - thank you so much.}
10 Mar 2026 11:45:09
Good luck Ed on getting your parents out safely, have had a similar thing with my son getting out of Abu Dhabi luckily he got out yesterday, hopefully things will improve in the next week
{Ed001's Note - they got a flight earlier today and are currently on the way back, fingers crossed safely!}
11 Mar 2026 12:25:25
I hope they got home safe and well ED01
{Ed001's Note - yes mate, got home late last night.}

For me, Joao Pedro is now bordering on being right up there with the best strikers in the world, he has everything, can drop deep and make the play, has incredible skill, can finish, and also has a bit about him as well.
Well on course to be our first striker since Diego Costa to bag 20-plus goals in a season. That position can be chalked off the list now.

Completely agree. He's been wonderful and is a very selfless player. It's a small thing, but I've massively appreciated him giving the ball up to Palmer or Fernandez when he wins a penalty.
I remember, a couple of years ago, the lads were scuffling over who could take the pen, but it looks like there is a real togetherness now. And J. Pedro has had a quality season.
09 Mar 2026 14:32:47
Standard, before his Chelsea move, Joao Pedro was largely operating behind the scenes for the Selecao and was competing with a long list of attacking talents, but his performances in the Premier League for us have pushed him from an outsider to a key figure in Brazil's attack.
King Carlo Ancelotti clearly believes in him, and he is repaying that faith with goals, confidence, and leadership in the final third.
We now have a striker hitting the peak of his career and becoming one of the best attackers in world football.

I watched the Arsenal game (8:15pm kick off is always nice) and must say Dowman looks a level above. Quite often with the younger lads you can see the nerves, understandably, and they are looking not to make a mistake. That kid plays with zero fear. Looked the best player on the pitch by quite a distance, which is bonkers for a 16 year old.
Probably could've had 2-3 as well with some better luck/finishing. He's already had a /50 card sell for $7.5k over here which might be saying more about Chinese money than actual value, but he definitely will be exciting to watch going forward.

Hey Melbourne, hope you're good. I've not seen Dowman play, but have been reading a lot of hype about him. Interesting, he seems the real deal, though obviously so much can go wrong between here and their prime for players, as we've seen so many times before.
I was just curious reading your assessment (seen you say it somewhere else as well), but when you say 'a /50 card' selling, what are you referring to? (Feel like an old guy asking.)
08 Mar 2026 11:18:16
What's good, EdW?
It was the first time I've seen him play, but he just glides past players with the ball. Very similar to the feeling of seeing Estevao a few times this season. Definitely not out of place on a field with men.
Football cards come numbered.
So you have the regular cards and then numbered cards, with 1/1 being the most valuable, and numbers going all the way up to 299, usually. Although the collectibles market has been pretty insane since Covid, it's somewhat seen as a way to diversify from traditional investments.
08 Mar 2026 12:49:46
Ah, thanks Melbourne! So, like baseball cards are traded in the States, the card manufacturers release the rares in limited numbers. I didn't realise football cards as a collectible were a thing, really - I had only heard about cards from kids playing FIFA (which I think also had value, weirdly).
Thanks for filling me in! I will look out for Dowman as well. I think we tried to get him to sign last summer, or the summer before, didn't we, in line with our club policy of throwing money at whichever highly rated teenager is being talked about in coaching circles.

In the hat and into the quarter finals. There are a few teams who can't say that.
There will be some that moan but getting through is all that matters.

Wasn't the best performance, especially at the back, but resting players and going through all that ultimately matters.
07 Mar 2026 20:48:31
Fuser, absolutely mate, it's a cup competition and that's all that matters.
07 Mar 2026 21:31:43
No one will moan about going through!

A couple of lads thought Spurs were a bigger club than The Chels. A couple of lads said Spurs won't go down. I shall leave it there boys and girls.

I said they were a bigger club, but financially not on the playing front.
They have a great stadium, with increasing revenue streams.
Just bear in mind that at some point we are going to have to go through the same pain when the owners get round to actually doing something with the Bridge, or indeed moving away from it.
I will also stick my neck out and say Leeds will join the other bottom two. Bear in mind, they took 4 points from us this season.
06 Mar 2026 15:22:00
Leeds, the happy Hammers or the Spuds, what a dilemma!!!
05 Mar 2026 20:56:44
Great win yesterday, Pedro is on fire atm - great signing and to make it all better I'm sat watching Spurs iplode with Henry VIII in charge. The Championship calls!

Spurs look in real trouble Kaz and as ED01 recently said if they get relegated and don't bounce straight back they could well go into administation with those huge debts they have on that stadium and the reduced revenue the championship brings
