That Petrovic is utterly useless, so so glad we binned him off.

Loved that Maresca presser today, he is really growing in stature and batted those questions from the press away, nice to have a manager/coach who has a touch of confidence, even arrogance about himself, it might end in tears, who knows, but at least stand up and be counted. I used to hide behind the sofa when Potter spoke, it was so cringeworthy and Poch talked total bollox and was a clueless halfwit so a nice change, will he be a success going forward? who knows?

Thiago Silva looking for a return to Europe. It’d be madness for Chelsea to not look to bring his experience into this group - madness. They won’t do it.

J, I think he will return to us as a coach for the start of next season.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 14:31:41
I’m all for him coming back in some capacity.

So am for him coming back in some capacity.

Would reckon like Tom that it would largely be in a coaching role. But TS could still do a great job as player coach in some games. He was still one of the best defenders against CFC in CWC cos of calm authority and deft reading of the game. Would bring such calmness and authority to younger players when selected for likes of cup games. in fact I would have him captain us v Cardiff tomorrow night if this had been possible!

Agree0

Bring him back.

Questions for everyone to keep the site more active:

What made you support Chelsea?

There are no wrong answers.

I am Lithuanian myself so did not watch premier league games before coming to England.

And once my parents brought me here (I was 16 at the time) at 2003 I started to support Chelsea as most English people disliked it (Because of Russian Mafia Money - Abramovich) .

So it was more of the support our own (he is Russian though) and stand against everyone else.

Lrdit, I like the the idea of supporting anting because everyone hates it.

My reason is very simple. I worshipped the greatest player I have ever seen play football, Jimmy Greaves and although I was devastated when we sold him, apparently to save the club, I just carried on supporting what was a very young group of players!

Family. Although my dad’s parents moved down to London, from Yorkshire, when he was a kid, and my grandad was a big Leeds fan. I’m in the rather unique position of being a Chelsea fan with a soft spot for Leeds (and most things Yorkshire) .

Grandad, dad, myself and my son fortunately no choice for us.

Arrived from Ireland as a seven year old, it was coming up to the cup final in the sixties.

I the school play yard there were two lines, one for Us and the other for Spurs.

There were less in our line so I picked us only to be beaten 2-1, I was gutted but supported us ever since, many people suggested I see a shrink.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 14:44:39
No family ties. My parents were Irish and my Dad wasn’t interested in football. He was a big fan of Gaelic football (the Kingdom ) . I can’t specifically remember why I started supporting Chelsea.

I was brought up in North West London where there was big support for Chelsea. Also a kid on our street invited me to go to Chelsea with his Dad;my first ever football game: it was probably that; never looked back.

First game I saw a 3 3 with Coventry got bitten by the bug

Lived in south London although Palace was nearer Chelsea were the easiest team to get to as there was a bus outside my house to Victoria,

I was hooked early. After my parents divorced - when I was a kid - I moved with my mother to Godstone where the man who then took care of my Mum (she wasn't well much of the time) and me became a surrogate father figure. It was John who introduced me to CFC. He had been brought up in a pre-gentrified Fulham and had himself been Chelsea fan since a kid when his father took him to games.

John used to drive me to home matches well before kickoff so he could get a few in at one of the pubs near the ground and catch up with some of his mates. I was happy to sit quietly downing a coke or two. The deal was that I would back up his story to my Mum - it was her car- that we had to get there early cos of the traffic and parking problems!

Docherty's Chelsea were generally good to watch. But I reckon I also invested considerable emotional energy in my support for them cos of my family circumstances. Going to games was a wonderful opportunity to let off steam - and still can be!

Well you asked the question Lrdit so I took myself on a trip down memory lane. Thank you!

Yes great question Lrdit, It has been interesting to read our posters stories. I agree about keeping the site alive and busy even if we disagree.

Loved that lad at chelsea. My lad has a picture of them together at the bridge. Now we love him more for tearing spurs to peices.

In my opinion CHO would have been a truly top talent if it hadn’t been for that horrible Achilles injury.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 17:36:56
Agree Tom and he was someone who had stood out for. me in terms of skill on display when I. managed to watch some of our youth sides.

A big thanks to ED033 for running the Maresca in or out poll, looking at the results it appears nearly 60% of fans on here want him to stay.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 14:16:41
Its actually quite funny as 47 votes. Yet there is probably 10 people that are actually active on here.

Tomb said himself he managed to vote twice. I wonder if that has been the case in more people due to the fact 47 have voted.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 14:40:13
RPD

There will be fans who want him to stay, others want him to leave, just over 40%.

I would like him to start playing more attractive football bearing in mind the young attackersxwe have, I would also like him to stop the 50% rotation every game, we will never get a settled side with him doing that.

I'm just hoping that we beat Everton today.

Really good win today Tom, nice to be back on the 3 point trail, a goal for CP and another clean sheet.

So based on 10 regular posters at 60% the split is 6 in favour and 4 against. Then factor in King Frank and all of his ramdom aliases.

RPD

unless the voting can be done be done by just one vote per person, I think we can ignore the result of the poll.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 15:24:29
I think I could guess who would vote in or out of the regular posters so here goes.

In.
Tom
Seymns2
RPD
Kiwi Pete
Jimbo (for now)?

Out
Nibbs
Bill
Blueboy
Poch

Not sure
J
JBS
EW

They are the regular posters and apologies if I have missed anyone who posts reguarly.

Greenaway, what about you?

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 17:18:59
Also, I may well be wrong but I think Poch is a keep EM poster.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 17:19:42
Tom, I'm Maresca in at the moment and will review that at the end of the season, he has done pretty well to date, got us top 4 last season, won 2 pots and the players seem pretty together. Yes, he has made mistakes but what coach doesn't and who are the alternatives?

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 18:51:26
Greenaway, that was my position last season and remains my position this season.

I think it’s reasonable that any club reviews its manager at the end of each season.

Mind you, I did get some pelters for a while last season for holding that view.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 21:02:52
If Tom is right about Poch being a Maresca in and I saw JBS say he is Maresca in on another post that makes it 7 in and just 3 out of the posters on here.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 08:17:04
I voted in, and let's make a judgement at the end of the season.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 08:55:40
Some of us barely post but like to read.

Guess I am one of those.

I used to be active when Jackson/KiwiPete were on this website.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 10:12:40
Does that make the 7 right RPD, not sure what your point is, Labour got in with a majority but I'm sure most would want them gone now.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 10:58:56
Unfortunately, owners of clubs aren’t always democratic.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 11:38:08
Bill being a pedant Labour got in with 33% of the vote so most people didn't want them to start with .

It would be interesting who most posters would prefer as our manager can't see there being a standout viable candidate waiting in the wings.

15 Dec 2025 13:33:08
Seymns2

I agree with you about there being no stand out coach, certainly not available.

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 17:20:41
It is all a bit of banter Bill and who knows how this season will pan out? Last season you wanted him out shortly after he was appointed, Leicester Maresca you called him which was I did find amusing and I guess you won't ever change your mind which is certainly consistent.

Apologies in advance for the rant and it not specifically Chelsea related. The World Cup; you all know that I believe that FIFA and UEFA are corrupt and put the Mafia on par with the Women’s Istitute. The notion that football is “the People’s game “ and “the beautiful game “ are long gone. Football is the biggest sport in the world and has been hijacked by money and politics.

I am not a great fan of international football but support England and Ireland in tournaments.
Domestically, I worry about club football, supporters who don’t have season tickets struggle to get to games and even to watch games on TV with different providers vying for rights; you will need probably four different subscriptions soon. ”The people’s game “ my ar**.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 11:42:03
Totally agree with all of that except there are some scary people in the Women's Institute Fifa looks corrupt and has become politicised Trump given a peace prize the day the US blew a Venzuelan boat out of the water. Infantino a power crazed bloke who loves himself .

Cost wise the tickets are a bad joke no reductions for children crazy growing the bank account not the game.

Football in general has been taken over by money in the not too distant future you will need Sky Amazon BT Paramount / Netflix if you want to see all the club games
I have always felt that club matches should have a very small number of nominally priced tickets so people can have a chance to see their club once probably not worth the clubs efforts.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 14:45:24
Could not agree with both of you more.

FIFA are and have always been a corrupt organisation and I'm afraid this will never change, football is for the rich and as Keane once said, for the prawn sandwich brigade.

I fear for fans at our club, due to losing sponsorship revenue, the easiest way to get money in is to increase ticket prices.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 17:10:39
Infantino and Trump = two peas in same corrupt pod.

Agree0

12 Dec 2025 14:46:20
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend yet another game at the home of the Club World Champions.

I’m not very hopeful of a positive result but I’m usually wrong and I hope I’m wrong again.

I think Josh should start at CH and I also think that Santos should be the replacement for Caicedo.

I personally wouldn’t pick Pedro as our CF.

Anyway, COME ON MY MIGHTY BLUES.

Agree0

12 Dec 2025 21:08:21
Tom, sorry to hear that. I will be there but honestly don’t know what to expect: so no predictions from me.
